Something in sent file I didn't send

How does that happen?

There's no way I sent this to anyone. There's not even a message, just a bunch of numbers.

I put spaces in there to disable it whatever it is. No subject and no message.

Help, WTF is that?

Thanks in advance.

What email service do you use?

Have you recently clicked on links or opened attachments from any source?

It's probably a good idea to change your login password, just in case you've been compromised.

Is it just this one email? Have you looked in your trash or further in your sent history?

Also, do you know how to view the email header? That will show all the information of when it was sent and so on.

OMG!!!! They promised that we'd never see those numbers in that order again. What on earth have you done?

Some poking around on the net suggests that Care2 are an organisation associated with petitions and social campaigns.

There is also some discussion about people who ended up with permanent accounts, despite only having signed a single petition.

And a data breach that caused some ruckus.

None of this explains how something ended up in your sent mail though.

Is your account accessible on the net?

Was this in your sent email folder, or did a friend contact you to say they had received this odd email from you?

Did you maybe click on “unsubscribe” to an email you received from them?

It was in my sent folder. There was no message and yes, already tracked down it was a site I must have signed a petition. I certainly never gave them permission to raid my address book. Fortunately I don't save any addresses.

Actually, I think I did do that. I signed a petition and then got bombarded with 'sign all these petitions too'. So I unsubscribed.

That makes sense. I think you might be right.

Yay Tanja!
