Ants and fungi all in one (Ask and ye shall receive!): http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0324173459.htm
and others - big deal!! Also, make further center line cut on your paper moebius for more surprises!!! (That is, bisect it and then biosect the result of the first bisection. First, though, see if you can predict what will happen at the end of the second bisection. Or, take and 8.5 X 11 sheet of copy paper and cut a hole in it big enough for you to walk through standing (i.e a hole/rectangle app 6' X2.5' X6' X 2.5' or, about 17' in circumference. That's the first and easy part! Then, take another piece the same size and cut a hole in ing large enouigh for 7-10 people to walk through standing side by side (62' circumference). No taping, gluing or any such is allowed - only cutting. Oh, my 10th/11th grade chem class record (for the last 8 years) was 21 students walking through side by side. That was a single hole circumference app. 117'. First and only hint: fold the paper in half before you start cutting the hole. And, back in the late 30's/early 40's Robert Ripley in one of his theatrical shorts showed how to do it. Business card - woman passed through. Old bar bet. |

Let's add mereological nihilism into the mix!
There is no JREF, for this "thing" you are referring to, like Soylent Green, is just made of people. |

As you might guess, folks that are inclined to bisect mobious strips are inclined to bisect them again. As well as cutting the big hole. I'm all about that sort of nerdum. Convex miniscus; floating the needle; stroking the florescent light tube with a sweater in a dark closet...geez, that sounds kinky now...dragging a magnet across a tv screen: That's my kind of thrill. Soylent green is cool too. I wonder if it comes in a vegetarian form? |

This is so true!
Of course the JREF isn't interested in debate or science. It's mission is to destroy the reputations of woo purveyors, by tricking them into agreeing to a test protocol that guarantees they will lose. There will be no debate over the results, and 'science' is only used to keep the $1M firmly out of reach. And if you don't like those terms and turn down the 'challenge'? Then you get labeled a fraud! Congratulations on seeing through the charade. No doubt you will now be viciously attacked by the regulars here, as they consider it their mission to tear apart anybody who doesn't toe the anti-woo line and/or dares to expose the true nature of the JREF.
Quote:
Or perhaps that is it. The neurotic ruling classes who run the JREF know that sooner or later someone will figure out their little scheme, so they set up fake user accounts and post ridiculous stuff that nobody in their right mind would defend, making it look like anybody who believes in woo is an idiot. I bet Jonesboy is another one of those fake accounts, right? A poe deliberately created to make the JREF look good and woos look bad. So 'Jonesboy', it's time to come clean. You're one of THEM, aren't you? |
