GOP trying to collect ballots in King County (WA)

King County here in WA votes purely by mail. The King County website is saying that they've received reports that the GOP is trying to collect ballots from people.

Honestly, I hope it really isn't happening, but people can use the above website to also track to see if their ballot was received. I checked on behalf of my wife, and hers was. It bothers me that people would try and subvert the elections like this.

Might be just be a misguided gesture of kindness, and trying to ensure that as many people vote as possible.

If they show up at my house, they can admire part of my gun collection until the cops come for them.

Not surprising. A ballot collector in Portland area was filling all blanks in with Republican votes. But at least the person had a valid ID.....

What will those rascally Republicans think of next?

Let the games begin. Republican paper shredders vs. Democrat bribe vans. We'll see you in Hell.

Why isn't there an election thread yet? I haven't been this pumped since Scott Walker sent the libs crying to their mammies.

Good point. All the counties west of the Cascades are pretty solid blue. Why would someone go to the effort and take the risk?

Got any evidence to back this claim?

The gubernatorial race is close, and King county would be optimal.

Yes, if you are destroying random votes, take them from places where your opponent is strong.

The website is saying! They've received reports!

Wow!

At least it's not an unsubstantiated rumor!

Because that would be stupid!

*shrug* It was in the news, King County elections had been receiving some phone calls where people were commenting on it.

I'm sorry if this gets in the way of your partisan views. I guess you think this is ok.

Here's another unsubstantiated rumor regarding the actions.

It's possible that this is perfectly innocent, but it is odd, and suspicious.

That was not nearly a fair election. Remember the endless recounts when Dino was trying to become Governor until finally Christine was barely ahead? Why cry fowl now that the GOP is finally having to resort to the dirty tricks that the Demorcats do constantly in WA?

That was an extremely close election, the recounts were required per the state constitution, and it was all overseen by a respected GOP leader.

In short: bs.

Huh. I hadn't heard of this before, but according to your link, apparently it is ok:

Not so odd or suspicious that the people of King County have seen fit to outlaw the practice. I guess the real question is, why aren't the Democrats there doing the same thing? Or are they?
