Meet Eric Hammarstrand, disabled Swede. The Swedish version of eugenics.
Hammarstrand mostly writes in Swedish, but sometimes in English, currently often about Sweden discarding vaccines passing their use-by date instead of having been offered to hospital workers and the disabled as booster shots. (Why this doesn't happen? Don't ask, it just doesn't. It's a Swedish thing!)

"Our high death toll benefits us now"

The title of a Swedish article yesterday:
Experten: "Våra höga dödstal gynnar oss nu"
The expert: "Our high death toll benefits us now"
https://twitter.com/r_hellqvist/stat...13689142419459

Since then, they seem to have changed the online title, but the quotation from a Swedish researcher is still there:
Quote:
When the countries around us are now hit by a fourth wave, Sweden may be affected milder - thanks to our different strategy. Researchers think so.
Uno Wennergren, professor of theoretical biology, is among those who doesn't believe in any higher spread of the virus.
- Our high death toll benefits us now, he says
Researchers: Sweden's high death toll may lower the risk of a fourth wave

Maybe those researchers are actually unaware that Sweden's (relatively) low numbers are based on all the testing that Sweden doesn't do. Maybe they are just playing along ...

The Swedish model?

This is something people should keep in mind whenever they hear somebody claiming that the Swedish pandemic response has been a success. Another thing is the death toll per million: more than three times higher in Sweden than in Denmark, and even less in the other Nordics.
And a third thing is the percentage of positives: In Sweden, it is currently 5.9 percent.

A new Danish study reminded me of this old post defending Sweden's strategy of keeping schools open:

Quote:
Arcade 22, May 19, 2021
By the way Sweden has saved billions of SEK for every single day that it has kept primary and lower-secondary schools open. Closing schools costs society a lot of money in the long run. Staff shortages are the main problem: many teachers are in risk groups and anyone who feels sick is supposed to stay home, but it's not like they are piling up dead.

Both Norwegian and Danish experts did not recommend the closing of schools but politicians felt pressured to conform to the "consensus" of shutting down everything.
