Come on now. When you get high, don't we all spark a public dialogue about murdering members of Congress? Buncha normies yo.

There didn't seem to be anything incongruous about the one in Arnold Schwarzenegger's office.

It's a funny thing--I don't think drunk always reveals truth. I have a friend I've known since high school. A Grateful-Dead loving make-love-not-war pagan who would be at home with the hippiest of hippies. Somehow when she drunk posts she starts arguing (badly) the opposite of what she usually advocates. And it's not a mask slipping, I've known her forever and I know what she truly thinks of all this. In the morning she quietly deletes the posts with some embarrassment. It really mixes up her wires.

Seems like some of Trump's recent rhetoric has been causing some problems for the Capitol terrorists, over their attempts to be released on bail prior to trial.

Some of the defendants (or their lawyers) have been trying to claim that the events at the capitol were somehow "unique", and that they are not a threat anymore... but with Trump's renewed attempts to claim the election was stolen, the prosecutors in some cases are now saying that the defendants are too easily manipulated and can pose a risk if let out.

From: Politico
Trump’s refusal to accept the reality that he lost the 2020 election...has become a feature of prosecutors’ latest attempts to jail Capitol riot defendants they deem too dangerous to release pending trial. Judges have started citing this argument...in cases where they've decided to detain defendants for presenting a threat of future violence...pending trial. They’ve agreed that Trump’s rhetoric could spur his most radicalized supporters to attack again.

I really have a hard time having any sympathy for them over it though.

I think the courts are reasonable there. They acted in this way because Trump rejected the election results. If Trump continues to reject the election results, the logical expectation is that they will continue to act this way.

Trump is making his own supporters prisoners in order to support his own ego to their determent.

Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was.

Capitol Rioter Caught Counting Ballots in Arizona GOP's Bizarre Election 'Audit'—Because of Course

Quote:
Kern, in his last days as an elected official, was among those present at the Capitol. What's more, he spent days promoting the "Save America Rally," from which the failed insurrection unfolded, on his social media. He later condemned the violence in a retweet.
Brahm Resnik on Twitter:
Quote:
UPDATE I deleted retweet that showed ballot at audit table where ex GOP State Rep. Anthony Kern was counting ballots. Media agreed not to show ballots when shooting images/video at Coliseum. But point remains: Today, Kern counting ballots. Jan. 6, he was at Capitol insurrection.
(twitter feed includes photos of Kern at the rally and video of him entering the building. Unclear to me if he has been charged yet.)

You can buy a good reproduction of a Civil War era Sword for a couple of hundred bucks from any of the merchants serving the reenactment crowd. I own one myself an 1860 Union Army Standard Issue Infantry Officer's sword (though also used by most Artilley officers).

I though it was sorta of cool that Arnie had his Conan sword hanging in the Governor's office in Sacramento.

Fascist street gang heavily implicated in Jan6 riot given free hand by Salem Police to terrorize community.

Proud Boys worked "security" for an unpermitted, heavily armed right wing rally in Salem Oregon, violently ejecting citizens they deemed undesirable from a public park. No police response.

Quote:
When the Proud Boys and their far-right cohorts led the violent Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, they did so largely operating under their longstanding belief that the police were on their side. This weekend, breaking their weeks of quiet amid a stream of post-Jan. 6 arrests, they held an armed “Second Amendment” rally in Salem, Oregon—without a whiff of police presence.

That meant that the Proud Boys, acting as gun-bearing “security” for the “One Nation, One God” rally on Saturday at Salem’s Riverfront Park—an event that had no permit from the city—were able to close off access to anyone deemed undesirable, threatening both journalists and citizens with impunity. The only sign of law enforcement was a police helicopter hovering overhead.
https://m.dailykos.com/stories/2021/...olice-presence

Far right extremists also attempted to forcibly enter the Oregon state capitol building, also in Salem, in the recent past. Biven the well known danger of these groups, it's hard to find an innocent explanation for why these known violent street brawlers are given such kind treatment by local police.

Gee, it's almost as if the cops support this brand of far-right extremism.

They're probably correct on this issue. Another J6 defendant claims to have been viciously beaten and hospitalized by a guard in a premeditated attack. They have a snowflake's chance in hell in getting pretrial release nonetheless.

Something about far-right extremists complaining about the intentional cruelty of our prison system tickles me.

Proud Boys probably had less illusions about the reality about our prison systems, but I imagine a lot of facebook-poisoned MAGA CHUDS that got hoovered up in this thing are getting a hard lesson in how the world actually works.

I have no comment I can think of.

‘**** All of You!’: Capitol Rioter Raises Hell During Off-the-Rails Court Hearing

Quote:
A Utah man accused of assaulting police officers during the Capitol riots invited several of his MAGA friends to his Thursday court appearance—then wreaked havoc during the hearing, repeatedly screaming at the judge and court officials.

“You people ****** this up,” Landon Kenneth Copeland ranted during the Zoom hearing on Thursday. “You’re going to give me a psych eval. I don’t like 70 percent of my income going to the government. **** all of you!”

Quote:
During his Thursday hearing, Copeland was joined by some of his Trump-supporting friends and, at one point, his mother. Magistrate Judge Robin Meriweather ended up kicking out one of his friends after they chose an “expletive” as their Zoom username.
Quote:
The second he was taken off mute, Copeland began to scream, “I’m going to tell the truth.”

“I don’t like you people... you’re a robot to me... you can’t come get me if I don’t want you to... **** all of you... **** all of you,” he shouted during his tirade, at which point a judge put him in a separate Zoom room so that he could no longer interrupt the proceeding. “I wanna talk in open court you *************!”

I especially liked this part:
Quote:
“I guess peacefully protesting at the Capitol is now illegal and they are trying to hunt us all down to try and teach us a lesson. Unfortunately, only one option remains when we return. We bring guns and take the Capitol building without intention of being peaceful. This ends with the government bombing their own people. I had hopes it wouldn’t. But here we are.”
Um, peaceful protesting?! Good luck with that buddy.

I guess the question is, was it an honest assessment (i.e. that the Canadian group has different goals and ideals than the American group), or were they just as much a group of scumbags, but they just didn't want the negative publicity (and will regroup under some alternative name).

Just for the fun of it...

Quote:
Attorney for Capitol defendant Anthony Antonio said his client had “Foxitus” and “Foxmania” from watching six months of Fox News and started “believing what was being fed to him” by Fox News and the president.

“You people ****** this up,” Landon Kenneth Copeland ranted during the Zoom hearing on Thursday. “You’re going to give me a psych eval. I don’t like 70 percent of my income going to the government. **** all of you!”

“So that everyone knows I go to see the FBI and a judge tomorrow,” Copeland wrote in an April 28 Facebook post, which was also read during his hearing.

Now all we need is someone to come along and tell us all how this guy was a just a tourist taking selfies

The question is how they will do it. Will they go through the trouble of a bad conduct or dishonorable discharge, or just quietly admin discharge or just let his current enlistment run out.

This seems like it's a high enough profile screw up that they might actually want to go through the whole nine yards to publicly rebuke this CHUD.

Pretty funny considering this guy is charged with directly assaulting several cops as part of the breach. He's not even one of these idiots that can sorta claim they were just protesting, this guy is on video skirmishing with riot cops and took a blast of pepperspray directly to the face during the brawl.

Active Major in the Marines was identified and arrested by the feds for participating in the riot. He's seen on video skirmishing with riot police and holding the doors open to allow others to storm inside.

A reference to the idiot GOP Congress-critter testimony no doubt. And how do we know if these guys were Trump supporters, did anyone do a survey?

Some Republicans are rewriting history about January 6
Quote:
The other was a group of House Republicans at a House Oversight Committee yesterday either minimizing or even defending the actions of those who stormed the Capitol on January 6.

Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., said federal law enforcement was “harassing peaceful patriots” as it searches through photographic evidence of those who might have committed crimes on that day.

Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., added: “It was Trump supporters who lost their lives that day, not Trump supporters who were taking the lives of others.”

And maybe most jaw-dropping of all was Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., who compared those who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6 to a “normal tourist visit.”

“There was an undisciplined mob. There were some rioters, and some who committed acts of vandalism,” Clyde said. “But let me be clear, there was no insurrection and to call it an insurrection in my opinion, is a bold-faced lie. Watching the TV footage of those who entered the Capitol, and walk through Statuary Hall showed people in an orderly fashion staying between the stanchions and ropes taking videos and pictures, you know.”

He continued, “If you didn't know that TV footage was a video from January the sixth, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit.”
It gets harder everyday to believe this gaslighting is really being spewed in Congress.
