Speculation building, not least in this thread

Meat on those bones

From "the Palace"

Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.

News is saying "under medical supervision after doctors became concerned for her health". It could mean she's on the way out, or it might not. I presume they won't actually help her on her way as they did with (I think) her grandfather.

I just hope that this won’t be one of those “she’s about to go” “no she’s rallied around” on going things. Just put her out of my misery.

The jokes do write themselves.

Johnson will be furious - her dying could have given him a smokescreen for months if she’d timed it better.

Of course the big and the most important question is - do we get her funeral as a public holiday?

It could be she has already died but they want next-of-kin to make the announcement. Wonder if Harry will make his way there, too?

It will be the end of an era. A very emotional time.

No. Despite even my most cynical views of the royal family if she had already died they would have announced it. It will not be announced by “next of kin” it will be an official announcement released by Clarence House or Buck Palace.

Not sure on the (made up as they need it) protocol whether he assumes buck house for announcements immediately or only after a coronation.

In a surprise move, Harry and Meghan seize the throne! Literally, just the throne-- they use the fuss surrounding the queen's health as cover to loot as much furniture as they can cram into a rented van. They discover there is a surprising amount of chewed gum stowed on the underside of the seat.

BBC Radio is chuntering along in its usual manner. Afternoon concert at the moment. Sounds like the overture to Der Rosenkavalier. Pretty sure they wouldn't be playing that if there was a corpse in the palace.
