That's just...

George Floyd didn't get a trial. He was summarily executed in public.

Yes and no. Whilst of course it is the trial of his murderer in one way if it is referred to as the “trial of the killer of George Floyd” or “George Floyd killer’s trial” I think that is a good thing, it means the victim is remembered not the killer. But if it is “trial of George Floyd” then of course it is terrible.
