Pretty much par for the course. As much shouting as he did about NAFTA becoming the USMCA, it really didn't change all that much, and a lot of the biggest changes were actually in Canada's and Mexico's favor. I think the biggest concession that Trump got was slightly greater access to the Canadian milk market, which we had already agreed to in the TPP deal that Trump pulled out of.

I'm increasingly of the opinion that a whole lot of people literally went insane after 9/11, and that this was never properly recognized and dealt with. Lots of people dying of Covid-19... Is he concerned? I guess it depends on what effect it has on his polling numbers/ratings...

Political violence? It depends...is there a chance it could keep him in the White House? If so he'll be all for it.

It's not about intelligence. It's about bias, tribalism and cognitive dissonance.

It's far harder to get people to change their mind than it is to persuade them before they have made a decision. These people have been sold. And they have reinforced their position by finding other sold people. They thought their guy won again because Trump took an early lead and when it flipped they didn't want to believe it. Then Trump mounted his disinformation campaign and they jumped at the opportunity to believe they were cheated.

There is little you can say to them. They have their minds made up.

It's far harder to get people to change their mind than it is to persuade them before they have made a decision. These people have been sold. And they have reinforced their position by finding other sold people. They thought their guy won again because Trump took an early lead and when it flipped they didn't want to believe it. Then Trump mounted his disinformation campaign and they jumped at the opportunity to believe they were cheated. There is little you can say to them. They have their minds made up.
