I tried watching Carlson videos once or twice. They're not nearly as witty or insightful or "owning" as his fans seem to think they are. Honestly I think Mumbles probably watches way more Tucker Carlson than I do. Pretty much everything I know about his antics I get secondhand, from haters posting about him on this forum.

This time it is The Sneetches.
https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/...t/69791362007/ Because, you know, kids actually made a connection between the story and racism. The administrator seriously suggested that perhaps The Sneetches by Dr Seuss is not appropriate content for 3rd graders. Remember this the next time someone tells you that they are only worried about making sure books are age appropriate. So to make sure we are clear: Stop publication of Dr Seuss books that have stereotypical racist artwork: outrageous Don't allow reading Dr Seuss books because they have a message that one group is not superior to another based on arbitrary physical characteristics: CRT Oddly enough, it was supposed to be a lesson in economics. Because, you know, 3rd graders would completely recognize that the guy is exploiting the population's prejudice to make a ton of money. Although I'm not sure that is the lesson that they thought it was going to give. |

I listened to the original story. This somewhat mischaractizes it. Still it was weird. A bureaucrat telling a teacher to stop reading a widely well regarded children's book with an anti-racist message out of fear. I encourage you all to listen. Pretty typical behavior for a bureaucrat in my opinion. "I'm not sure this will be a problem, in fact no reasonable person would think so, but still, its not exactly what the rules say so, no."
