I don't like any guns but i support Russia because it's a conspiracy against their country and by the way they arrested half the government of Ukraine for corruption and there is still work to be done by arresting the rest of their government.

Unless Putin is in that conspiracy too, I don't see how it could make him declare war and keep at it. I mean, he only needs to back the hell down to not have to deal with those weapons in Ukraine any more.

A conspiracy against Russia's violent invasion of neighbours. You want them to be free to attack their neighbours with their guns which you obviously love.

And *who* arrested half of the Ukrainian government? It certainly wasn't Russians. Russians make Ukrainians look like amateurs at corruption. When do they start arresting their own government?

You shouldn't look just at the problem itself but look on what cause it. What a spy of the cia do in a day work is conspiracy all the time, they carry bags of money all over the world to corrupt the whole planet, that's where started the problem. There should be an investigation of what they do and responsibles under arrest.

Did you see the great news about the tanks? Poland is sending 60 of their tanks that they produced based on a Russian model (but with major improvements). Canada and the European countries are sending Leopards, about 35 in all too. The Polish tanks Ukraine can use right away while the Leopards will take a few months. That's terrific news. Maybe Ukraine will be able to complete a drive on the Sea of Azov and cut the land bridge to Crimea. That would be awesome.

Of course the US is also sending tanks as well as a bunch of Bradley fighting vehicles and other armored vehicles. Bradley IFVs have a great track record using their guided missiles against Russian tanks. Maybe by summer, Ukrainian troops will be dipping their toes in the Sea of Azov and the Russians will be rushing the bridge to get out of Crimea.

The arrests were to placate European and North American governments. They show Ukraine is rooting out corruption. Now, we'll give Ukraine even more guns.

We hold plenty of money of Russia's in our banks. We can use that to help Ukraine rebuild. North America and Europe hold about 1.4 trillion dollars worth of Russian assets. That should get Ukraine on a good start to rebuilding.

No, that's absolutely not what tanks are for. That would be a stupid way to use tanks.

It does appear to be what Russian artillery and Russian missiles are for.

Hi!

Former Infantry officer here. One assignment I had was running an anti-armor platoon.

No, tanks are not intended to destroy houses. There are much easier ways to do that.

The purpose of tanks is:

1.) Destroy tanks and other vehicles.
2.) Provide fire support for infantry. Tiny bullets don't do much to bunkers. 120mm cannons do, however. In this role the tanks need to hang back a bit because on infantry anti-tank weapons.
3.) Act as a reconnaissance unit. Not always the best for this, but it is an option.
4.) Act as an exploitation unit when a gap opens in a defence. This is a bit risky and works better if they have infantry with them.

Tanks in urban areas pretty much suck on their own. Can't see inside buildings. Snipers can be anywhere forcing the tanks to button up. A buttoned up tanks cannot see much and increases their risk of getting hit by anti-tank weapons.

In a city, tanks are best used for the infantry fire support job described above. The Russians, however, still keep trying to make tanks working in cities without infantry a thing. They came up with the BMPT, AKA "Terminator" for that job. Still sucks at it.

So where did you get this idea that tanks exist for blowing up houses from?

In the actual war in Ukraine you don't really know if you killed somebody, you blow up the building with a 10,000$ bullet, if you hear nothing you go ahead and you look afterward if somebody is dead. For safety reason they don't make sure there are ennemy there before they fire their bullet.

Simple logic, you think they make sure somebody is there before they fire a bullet? If you make an attempt to look you may be dead. They just fire every where and hope they killed an ennemy, if they see an ennemy most soldiers fire above his head, they just kill the ennemy they don't see.
