Is this a Mondegreen from the Young Guns soundtrack by Bon Jovi? I can literally imagine Musk announcing to his sychophantic followers that he wants to use the slogan and then demanding it be played really loud in the boardroom while Elon Musk sings "SHOT douuuuuuwn in a blaze your glory!" while his minions look on and say, "Yes sir! That is a very good slogan, sir!"

Lol executives don't get held accountable in this country, and pensions really aren't that common anymore. If she has any sense she's taking her compensation in something that isn't Twitter stock. If she has a 401k it's almost certainly secure against any litigation against the company.

Its protected against almost anything, except owing back taxes, or child support.

In facts its an oft-forgotten benefit of contributing to a 401k.

There were 24 complaints and Twitter is to be billed for the cost of the permits needed to erect the sign and remove it.

In his latest bout of stupidity (so far). MuskX has sued a number of researchers at the nonprofit Centre for Countering Digital Hate who were monitoring hate speech on TwitX. Idiot boy has alleged that their work (which exposed the enormous increase in hate speech on the platform) cost the company millions of dollars of advertising revenue.
MuskX also alleges that the organisation is funded by foreign governments and media companies who view TwitX as competition. Of course no evidence for these claims is provided.

Probably a MuskX tantrum over having to take tien his giant X.

Could easily be lawfare, no idea if this org has deep enough pockets to successfully fight off this lawsuit, even if it seems overwhelmingly likely that they would win.

Have to wonder if Twitter really wants to open themselves up to discovery specifically on their recent policy changes regarding right wing hate content on the site. It's quite obvious that they have, either through lack of resources to police or as a deliberate policy, made Twitter a more welcoming place for open bigotry of various sorts. Having this explored in detail in public is probably not good for their reputation.

Twitter is now allowing verified accounts to hide their verified status. A real testament to how much the "blue check" has been devalued that anyone might want to hide this badge of shame.

Quote:
Users on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, can now hide the once sought-after blue checkmarks signaling their verified status.

In an update to its help center, X says subscribers can now "choose to hide your checkmark on your account." Doing so will hide the verified checkmark on a user’s profile and posts, but the icon may still appear in some places, according to the help center.

“Some features may not be available while your checkmark is hidden,” the help center also states, though it does not expand on which features may be inaccessible.

Oh it clearly is, and is still backfiring badly against them. Lots of support for CCDH, inclueding donations and legal assistance.
It seems like a classic MuskX tantrum, and one tht will cost him (and ihis investors) badly.

I'm assuming California especially is not a great venue for this kind of SLAPP nonsense.

Federal court.
Though there is precedent that state SLAPP laws are are substantive and therefore applicable in federal court.

This would be, ironically, one of the few promised features of Twitter Blue that Musk has managed to actually deliver to date.

I just tried that and lo and behold the movie is the top result for just 'it'. I thought maybe I would need to add the word 'movie' to the search prompt, but it wasn't necessary. Fwiw.

Google was probably monitoring this exchange and was just trying to be helpful.

DuckDuckGo's top two hits are for the movie as well, although the Wikipedia article it links to on the right hand side bar is for Information Technology.

Considering that he actually wants to add more AI to it and have it become an "everything app" that controls most of the world's finances and whatnot... it seems to me more like he WANTS to build Skynet, not prevent it. Just presumably he couldn't buy the trademark rights to "Cyberdyne Systems", so he's naming it X instead

Which, considering this came from the top of a multi-billion dollar operation...is probably not good.

As human right is always something given, it always in reality reduces to the right which men give, "concede," to each other. If the right to existence is conceded to new-born children, then they have the right; if it is not conceded to them, as was the case among the Spartans and ancient Romans, then they do not have it. For only society can give or concede it to them; they themselves cannot take it, or give it to themselves.
