Where did I say "brilliance". I said "interesting tactic"...primarily because the last time I saw it used was way back in middle school. See, you couldn't help adding your own bit of spice to my statement to make ot sound like I meant something else.

Looks like the Trump Klan has found another way to fleece the MAGAchud...

From: CNN
Melania Trump is getting in on the latest crypto craze -- NFTs. The former first lady announced Thursday that she is selling an NFT, or a non-fungible token, titled "Melania's Vision"...A portion of the proceeds will "assist children aging out of the foster care system"...The NFT is a "watercolor" by Marc-Antoine Coulon that includes an audio recording of Trump...

So according to the article, a 'portion' goes to charity, but I haven't seen anything indicating just what percentage... pennies? the majority of the profits? (Given the scam that was the Trump foundation, it wouldn't surprise me if none of it reached any charity.)

All I want this season is the indictment of the most recently former POTUS. Then I'll say Merry Christmas to all.

All I want for Christmas is his two front teeth.
I don't care how you're going to get them: with pilers, brass knuckles, or a steel tipped boot.

(I know this is an uncommonly violent desire on my part, so instead I wish him a ho ho ho visit by Krampus. Merry Karma Krampus, Mr. Trump!)

Well, I think Bill O'Reilly had more to do with it, with all his "War on Christmas" BS. Because acknowledging that a stranger might not be a Christian by saying something neutral like "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons's Greetings" is somehow a war on Christmas and Christians. And they say that liberals are snowflakes.

I disagree. When the Democrats have complained about a Republican "War on Women" in response to various Republican attempts to harm and disempower women, especially when it comes to their reproductive options, that sure seems like that wouldn't be an accurate description. When Democrats complain of a Republican "War on Children" in response to Republicans specifically targeting children's food programs, education, and so on as well as specifically acting to change the rules to harm and endanger children in groups that they don't like, that doesn't really sound like it qualifies either. More could be said, but I think that that's enough for now.

How much more obvious does it have to be, for pity's sake? Those two horror hounds first destroy Santa in effigy, and then they deliberately eat the cookies that were left for him. What else do you need? Pure evil.

Another legal problem for Trump...

From: https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/...nment-81800624
Michael Cohen claimed in a new lawsuit Thursday that Donald Trump retaliated against him for writing a tell-all memoir, saying his abrupt return to federal prison last year endangered his life and amounted to punishment for criticizing the president....Trump’s former personal attorney recently completed a three-year sentence...He reported to prison in May 2019 but was released to home confinement...as authorities sought to contain the coronavirus outbreak...Federal authorities abruptly ordered him back to prison weeks later, claiming he failed to accept certain terms of his release. Cohen, however, said he had merely sought clarification on a condition forbidding him from speaking with the media and publishing his book....a federal judge ordered him returned to home confinement, saying Cohen's return to Otisville had been “retaliatory.”

Have to say, Cohen may have been a "dirty lawyer" while working fro Stubby McBonespurs, but I do think he has at least partly redeemed himself when he does things like this.

I hope he wins his case (although I am sure Trump will probably claim "executive privilege" or something.)

I see no chance of Cohen getting anywhere with that lawsuit, unless he can provide a "smoking gun" memo saying "we ned to punish this guy for betraying Trump".

IMO another Trump style "leader" is absolutely inevitable in the USA. Trump showed them they can literally be in your face corrupt, racist and self serving and not only do a large proportion of Americans not care, they actually applaud it.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

For the next GOP presidential candidate, actually murdering a man with witnesses will be a campaign event.

No, a proper loyalty test is to order the followers to commit the murder. At that point, if their supports starts to waver, they either need to admit to themselves that they killed someone for no good reason, or they have to double down on supporting the leader.

Signature Trump move.

Trump sues N.Y. attorney general James to block fraud probes (politico.com)

I guess the question is, is this an intimidation tactic or a delay tactic (hoping to find some friendly judge will somehow block the investigation, get the whole thing tied up in appeals, etc. until the republicans regain the whitehouse.

(Yes, I know... states can prosecute when the feds cannot. But there are probably ways the feds can still muck things up.)

I don't think I've seen this mentioned yet...

From: CNN
...Trump, in a newly released interview, claimed that Jewish Americans "either don't like Israel or don't care about Israel," while also suggesting that evangelical Christians "love Israel more than the Jews in this country."...In the same interview, Trump suggested that The New York Times "hates Israel" even though "they're Jewish people that run The New York Times."

The article also points to comments Trump made about "Jews controlling congress".

(You have the typical responses... with jewish groups condemning his comments as antisemitism c, and Republicans largely remaining silent.)

Just dropped in to share a nice prediction by someone who knows his stuff:

Investigating Trump: Manhattan DA prepares charges against former president
Quote:
David Cay Johnston, investigative journalist and founder of DCReport.org, joins Yasmin Vossoughian to discuss the latest developments in Manhattan DA’s investigation into former President Donald Trump, including what he charges he is likely to face and what the timeline for the indictment could look like.
Dec. 19, 2021
In the MSNBC interview Johnston says he thinks Trump is about to be indicted for racketeering.

Reporters from Forbes recently testified before the Grand Jury about Trump's inflating his net worth. Trump regularly inflated his worth to get loans and deflated it when it came to his taxes. This is a no brainer. He will of course blame this all on Weisselberg but that won't help given Trump signed everything. Also a no brainer. And then there is the matter Trump has a long history of using this tactic, that's where the racketeering comes in as opposed to a mere civil suit.

Trump's response is always to delay delay delay so it's no wonder he recently filed a lawsuit asking all the legal actions in NY be stopped. No doubt that will go to appeal after appeal until it reaches the SCOTUS where Trump no doubt is still hoping his appointed judges will come through for him even though it is a state case against him. Again another no brainer.

But the racketeering charge is something new.

Inevitable? Maybe. But as I see it, the difficulty with trying to be the next "Trump" is matching his weird brand of charisma and stand-up comedy. He's actually funny and engaging in his own way. We've already seen that DeSantis, MTG, and Bobert, for example, can't pull it off.

Make a martyr out of him. That's a good idea.

He is already seen as one, so it really doesn't matter if he actually has to face some consequences.

I can't think of a better way to start 2022 than if this were to happen. Be still, my foolish heart.
