First darts, then F1, now... the tiling industry!

BBC News: 'Don't use showgirls to sell roof tiles'

"One of the UK's largest industry exhibitions is issuing a new code of conduct over the use of "promo girls".

Last year, UK Construction Week, held at Birmingham's NEC, faced criticism over the use of lightly clad women to staff an exhibitor's stall.

It featured Las Vegas-style showgirls selling roofing products."

I think we should ban human sexuality altogether. It's all rape anyway.

In Australia it is illegal to do the following in advertising
Quote:
a) taking advantage of the sexual appeal of a person, or group of people, by depicting them as commodities; or (b) focussing on their body parts where this bears no relevance to the product or service being advertised.

I think the using women with not many clothes on would come close to breaching this rule, though maybe not actually breach it.

Wow. That is actually illegal in Australia.

I thought that the world would stop being so uptight about sex the further along we got but it appears I was very wrong. We seem to be becoming more and more prudish.

That's insane.

What next? Banning movies that use images of sexually appealing people?

I don't see that Australia has many other options, at this point.

Avatar bet, they do something like what you suggest, within the decade?

There'll be hundreds of women who have used their (attractive) bodies to earn a living put out on the street. How will they earn a crust!

It also warns that if an exhibitor's stand theme is deemed inappropriate or doesn't comply with its equality, diversity and inclusion policy, they may not be permitted to open their stand at the event.
In order to appear diverse you need to meet our criteria or leave. I see how diversity works now. Double-plus good!

You already have the answer Is the war on men a war on women too? I love it when others tell me what I shouldn't like.
