This whopper was a headline at The Guardian. Oh, and I take great exception to the assertion suggesting that Biden isn't a mentally deranged moron. He's also a senile old fart.
That was the conclusion reached by the FBI.

Why wouldn't the President take notice of what the FBI is telling him?

Infrastucture may only be a partial solution/spending bill. No poor people housing built.

We don't really need new housing stock, millions of people are going to be evicted the second covid moratoriums are lifted, so there will be plenty of empty units available.

Not to mention cheap condos in Miami! People will sell them quickly, if built by that same outfit. Turn them into poor people rental housing.

The problem there will be that, in order for them to become affordable, their prices need to collapse to a fraction of what their currently badly inflated levels, which means lots of other people need to take the losses. If those who have bought don't take losses on their overpriced-at-the-time purchases, it means the prices aren't coming down enough to help the people who've been locked out of the market by the stratospheric overprices up to now.

Perhaps you would want to look back at the Russia Hoax and count the number of lies from fake news and the intelligence agencies. Years of lies about something that never happened. Assuming they are always lying is prudent.

Yesterday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was bragging about reading Lenin, Marx, and Mao. Biden has surrounded himself with Marxists/commies and idiots. He also lied about private citizens never being able to own cannons from day one, which was a lie and even the left's favorite fake news site Politifact acknowledged it was a lie.

Blackrock and other vulture investment firms are gonna buy them up and turn the US into a country of perpetual renters. Individual ownership of homes is so last century.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. If you rearrange the letters, drops some, add some more it spells "Chairman Mao."

I think it's unfair to make the comparison. None of these generals have anywhere near the military victory track record of Mao.

General Milley literally said the exact same thing, nearly word for word so calling him a Communist is... yeah.

The evil centrist Biden just extended it, so you'll have to find yet another reason he's just as bad as Trump.

In the GQP world, if you read a book, you automatically absorb its values. I read Heinlen’s Stranger in a Strange Land and now I am in a cannibal sex cult. I need to find my copy of Starship Troopers so that I can become an military based sci-fi government.

Unless there's some money doled out to pay the debt, it's just kicking the can down the road.

The evil centrists running California have the right idea, they're using public money to just pay off the back rent and keep people in their homes.

Newsom getting a downgrade to semi-malevolent centrist for good behavior.

Just to comment on this for a moment to stress a point - as with previous similar efforts, doing that is probably going to end up being a much, much cheaper option than doing nothing.

But that is immoral to give them something they did not work for, so I don't see it as being very popular nationally.

It's pretty much a win for everyone but the large capital investment funds like Blackrock that are hoovering up residential properties at bargain prices during crisis.

It's good for the landlords that actually want to get paid, good for banks relying on these landlords to actually pay the mortgage, it's good for the residents that suddenly lost their income for reasons beyond their control, it's good for society generally to prevent the chaos of having a large portion of their neighbors become homeless at the same time. The choice is to either let the misery and economic damage of the pandemic linger and compound over time, or just throw money at the problem right now and stop the damage by getting things back to normal.

I very much doubt others will follow this example, and it's a political non-starter nationally.

Oh, dear. Which "Russia Hoax"? The one where Russia interfered in our elections by having fake information that favored Trump flood the internet that Trump called a "hoax"? Or the one that Trump also called a "hoax" where "The Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee concluded in August 2020 that Manafort's ties to individuals connected to Russian intelligence while he was Trump's campaign manager "represented a grave counterintelligence threat" by creating opportunities for "Russian intelligence services to exert influence over, and acquire confidential information on, the Trump campaign."

Exactly what lies did the intelligence agencies tell? I'd like specifics.

Yesterday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was bragging about reading Lenin, Marx, and Mao.
Wow. What do Trump cultists have against knowledge and education? What is it that scares them so? Why is being ignorant a 'good thing' among them? Trump does love his "undereducated" supporters as he said.

He wasn't bragging. He was explaining to that idiot Gaetz that “I’ve read Mao Zedong. I’ve read Karl Marx. I’ve read Lenin. That doesn’t make me a communist. So what is wrong with having some situational understanding about the country which we are here to defend?”

Yes, BB, please explain to me what is wrong with that. Perhaps if you exposed yourself to things outside your Fox, OANN, far right extremist bubble, you might understand, too. Might.

You forgot "radical libtards". Isn't that a required term for anyone who doesn't support Trump's Big Lie?

Sigh. No, Politifact did not "acknowledge it was a lie". They said his statement was false. There is a difference between being mistaken and telling a lie. Would you like for me to explain the difference to you? Knowledge is a wonderful thing.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who was briefed on the G-21 plan early on Thursday, would not yet say whether he will back the initiative.
In his ongoing declared attempt to prevent "Biden's agenda", he's probably hoping he can force the R senators to back out.

There are two possibilities, here. Either you did not hear what he said in its entirety, which means either your source is distorting reality or you stopped reading there, or you are lying to us to support your larger narrative.

None of those options make you look good.

Are you one of those people who thinks that reading something automatically makes you agree with it? That playing violent video games or watching violent movies makes you into a murderer? What kind of sheep-like thinking is that? Well, it sure explains that you've chosen to isolate yourself in an echo chamber: exposure to different ideas means you'd change your mind! The horror!

After reading the Bible, it only confirmed by atheism instead of turning me into a Christian.

And if he fails, it's plausible that he'll actually vote for it for the sake of trying to take credit for it.

More than plausible; I'd say likely. If there is one thing McConnell is, it's self-serving. But then, McConnell is so many things. None of them good.

Oh the horror! A chairman of the JCS who actually reads stuff? What ever happened to the old standard of blood and guts and veins in your teeth? Say it ain't so Joe!

Biden is holding a press conference about the infrastructure deal. His responses to questions are long, articulate and insightful. This "Biden is senile" crap is really just crap.

They obviously pumped him full of drugs, just like they did before each debate.
(At one point Trump wanted drug tests as part of the debates.)

Or, as at least one Trump cultist on here would phrase it, "His responses are rambling, incoherent and full of lies."

Reporting sounds like enough Republicans are actually going to go along with the deal to make it happen. I remain skeptical. Bait and switch is pretty much their brand, and I wouldn't put it past them to just waste time negotiating before yanking out the rug at the last minute.

There's really no benefit for them to go along. Being intransigent and making Biden's administration as ineffectual as possible, even on non-controversial issues, is an effective political tactic that was used well during the Obama years.
