On the surface this is a valid argument. The argument loses its value when you dig deeper, and consider it in the context of an alleged terrorist attack on the US and the murder of almost 3000 people. No, I'm not being heartless. I do understand the emotions involved, but one family's grief does not override the public interest.
How many times do you think the Kennedy family watched the JFK assassination on TV? Don't you think this had an impact on them? I am certain it did. Everything needs to be released. Names can be withheld. Anonymity can be preserved when it does not substantially alter the content or meaning of the statement or recording. There should be no secrecy where 9/11 is concerned. None. |

No. They were released.
Do you not think that the NWO could not forever block their release? After all they managed to carry off a monstrous conspiracy that has seemingly forever silenced everyone involved. No one has come forward with one iota of evidence of anyone "Planting explosives". Who are these people? No deathbed confessions? No articles in Russia Today. Nothing in Mr Snowdon's purloined databases? |

I'm not denying that these people's personal experiences are being with held.
I'm not playing your game. That's why I ask, what is the gain you suspect you, or society, will get by making them public? There is public right to information and there is personal privacy and a determination must be made on the balance between the two. That determination has been made, and if you wish to have it overturned you will have to come up with a compelling reason for that. So far you want it public simply because you want it public. THAT dog won't hunt! |

If 'they' wanted them to remain secret then they would still be secret. Instead they have been available to you for ten years. What do thry say?
Do you think people prepared to murder thousands in plain sight in the biggest, most secret plot in history would csve in at a simple FOI request? madness. |

I have already pointed out that attempting to anonymize the recordings would NOT, in fact, address the privacy issue, because it would be possible to extrapolate who each person in the recordings are from their testimony mentioning others as well as the written accounts we have of which first responders were where. A determined individual could do so with minimal effort, as far as I can tell. Given that, FF, how else could we conceivably protect the privacy of these first responders?

Good.
Because three months ago you already learned from a mere building fire in Dubai - not a CD, not a collapse, just a fire - that witnesses reported hearing an "explosion" that turned out to have been a popping sound caused by fire: Thanks for admitting that reports of explosions are unremarkable and not proof that there were explosives, merely fire. |

Building fires have all manner of loud bangs and crashes and explosions.
How did you not know this? This does not surprise me. Your CD thread is going so very badly for you that it is no wonder you would avoid the topic. Privacy. There are plenty of 911 nutjobs who will willingly stalk and harass those first responders. Truther nuts do this all the time. They are known for it. Look what the truthers did to Carlee Soto and her family. 911 crackpots will do the very same to those first responders. In any event, since you proved yourself that all 503 accounts are in the public domain, what dastardly revelations have you unveiled? None. |

I do not deny this. period, full stop, end of claim that I do.

If you want to overturn a decision then you need an adjudicator, in our society that means going to court. In court one will be asked to give reasons and "I wanna know" won't cut it. So, now either everything has or has not been released to your satisfaction? Right? If so then what, if anything does it indicate to you wrt to the subject of the subforum? If not then what, if anything, do you expect it to indicate wrt the subject of ths subforum? Simple questions...... |

You are using a fake name when you post here. Do you have something important to hid? Is your attempt at maintaining your privacy just an excuse?
What if someone else told you something under a circumstance that they reasonably felt was not for widespread public dissemination. Would you feel free to just release the contents of that interview to the news media without feeling some awkwardness and obligation to the person who provided the interview? In any case- the interviews were released over 10 years ago. Find any smoking gun in them that confirms you suspicion of a coverup before the court ordered release? I've mentioned before how the truthers seem to feel that they have an inherent right to pick through the lives of the dead, the mourning, and the people deeply affected by seeing it all and trying to help. Most truthers feel that they have an inherent right to look at autopsy reports, dissect interviews with police and fire fighters while the murders were hours or days old, etc. Why not a right to visit the graves that have the remains of the dead, open them, and look at the charred bits of decayed flesh themselves? I mean, we want THE TRUTH, right? That's the goal of this little parlor game, and our right to amuse ourselves should not be stopped by anyone else's right to privacy, even if their parents, children, or friends died horribly. |

No, Nick Terry did quote this in his unedited post #107
Here is the final (?) court decision, that discusses the history of the case and the arguments made: https://www.law.cornell.edu/nyctap/I05_0034.htm It lists three relevant reasons under applicable law claimed by the FDNY:
Quote:
So FF asks why the FDNY went this far. Perhaps he believes the FDNY are a bunch of murderers, or led by murderers? I wish FF had the balls to say so clearly if that is what he claims. I think it is the most nornal thing in the world that people do not wish to have their communications that weren't intended to be published to be made public by their employers, and it is equally nornal that employers would sooner care for the interests of their employees than the public at large. If in addition there are some pre-emptive notions of CYA in the back of the minds of the responsible FDNY leaders - cover their employees' arses or their own for any mistakes that someone might discover, or just from dirt that miscreant nuts like 9/11 Truthers might fling in their limitless stupidity -, then that would not surprise me in the least. |

I have no problem admitting that "Trutherland" and "Skepticsville" are both on the same planet. That planet, however, is not Planet Earth. I'll point again to your brief burst of self-awareness earlier today: |

Very good Oystein. No wonder I like reading your posts.
That is "the determination" I refer to above.

The material was released. What, if anything is in the released material that sheds light on the details of the event wrt this subforum's subject ie. 9/11 Conspiracies? If there is nothing, and witness reports of 'explosions' have been discussed to death here for over a decade, then why post about it now? |

For the same exact reason that most every work related investigation in any field remains out of public view.
Generally all work related personal information can not be divulged without the express written permission of the individual involved. For me, unless the information would only be specifically used to benefit officer training I wouldn't want my reports or interviews disclosed for the entertainment of outsiders. |

OK. I see that now. It was late. I should have read his post more carefully. I apologize for the mistake.
Quote:
I asked why anyone would block the release of the oral histories. So far, none of the answers are justified. The fact is that the release was blocked and a court had to order their release. There should be no secrecy when it comes to 9/11. It is obvious that skeptics support this secrecy. The posts in this thread are proof. Secrecy obscures the truth; therefore the skeptics support secrecy so that the truth can be obscured. Skeptics can only maintain their delusions when the truth is obscured. That is the ONLY way. If the secrecy is lifted, and the truth is known, the skeptics lose everything. It's obvious what is going on here. |

I already said what the reason was. Read my posts.
You have an issue with the number of my posts, yet you are asking me to needlessly increase that number by repeating what I have already said. This is yet another one of your lame tricks. Are you ever going to stop? They don't work with me. |

It was, why do I have the oral histories you say were blocked? Failed to be blocked... was it after the trail?
Was the FBI blocked from investigating. No. Thus there is no point to the OP, no point to your opinions. The no purpose thread. The failed CD frustration OP... failed to make a point, makes a weak opinion based on ignoring reality. CD failed, this failed. What is the next failed point thread about 9/11 truth like fantasy claims and assorted failed fantasy. |
