It may not be an injury that requires any aid at all beyond a shower, but it's an injury nonetheless.
I got pepper sprayed at least 4 or 5 times and tased once in the Navy. Navy makes you go through it in order to carry them as weapons.

When the Navy sprays you with Pepper Spray they generally do it outside. My last spraying was done in a ball field. About 20 people got sprayed over the court of a morning and everybody's, even the observer and people running the spraying, had red, teary eyes.

For what it's worth a (very basic to be fair) medical screening is required by the Navy to even be in the area of the pepper spraying and it counts as a Level 2 (or 3 I forget the exact ranking) exposure. (I think doing the spraying counts as a level 2, being sprayed counts as a level 1, and just being around counts as level 3 but that's from memory)

To poke at a couple things...

DC National Guard Commander Says Pentagon Took His Authority Away Before Jan 6

Quote:

Memos obtained by The Post show how tightly the Pentagon restricted [Guard commander] Walker ahead of the events.

In a Jan. 5 memo, the Army secretary, who is Walker’s direct superior in the chain of command, prohibited him from deploying the quick reaction force composed of 40 guardsmen on his own and said any rollout of that standby group would first require a “concept of operation,” an exceptional requirement given that the force is supposed to respond to emergencies.

McCarthy, the Army secretary, was also restricted by his superior, the acting defense secretary. In a Jan. 4 memo, McCarthy was prohibited from deploying D.C. Guard members with weapons, helmets, body armor or riot control agents without defense secretary approval. McCarthy retained the power to deploy the quick reaction force “only as a last resort.”
Nothing suspicious there at all.

Elsewhere,

Canada's Parliament Unanimously Voted To Classify The Proud Boys As A Banned Terrorist Organization!

Not official yet, apparently, but there's a good chance that it will be soon.

Not something you see everyday.

Two Arizona politicians refuse to comply with FOIA request because their lawyer claims the records might violate their right not to incriminate themselves.

Both traveled to DC on Jan 6.

Be on the lookout for murder charges to drop

Not totally sure what to make of this, but a Justice Department official just suggested on call with reporters that the case of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick’s death (tied to the Capitol siege) is already before a grand jury and an announcement could come soon.

Hey it is totally not trespassing if you fail to lock the door. Like it is not stealing a car if you leave the keys in it.

they are not their documents, they are the taxpayers they are working for. It's like claiming that your employer is not allowed to release internal video of you stealing company property, because it would incriminate you.

I see no argument for withholding them based on the 5th Amendment.

Women troll cement-headed irioters.

Women on Bumble are matching with Trump supporters then reporting MAGA rioters to the police

As police use social media to track down Capitol rioters, dating app Bumble is also proving to be surprisingly fertile ground for discovering insurrectionists.

It started when women in Washington DC started to notice MAGA supporters on dating apps who were clearly in town for the riots.

Others decided to take matters into their own hands. Allison Norris shared that one woman changed her political preference to Conservative and sent the FBI any photos and videos from the insurrection she received from rioters.

And the company which as I skimmed the news was hoping to take the app to a public IPO has not been too pleased.

Chicage Tribune: Dating app Bumble suspends political filter after women allegedly used it to report Capitol rioters to FBI
Quote:
Still, plenty of Bumble users expressed frustration online over the suspension of the politics filter. Some said they didn’t want “insurrectionists” wading into their dating pools unannounced, while many simply supported the efforts of those reporting people involved in the deadly pro-Trump riot.

“So you’re not okay with people reporting domestic terrorists?” a Twitter user named Jess asked in a Thursday post that tagged Bumble....

... Confessed Capitol insurrectionist Brandon Fellows, 26, told Bloomberg News that his Bumble profile started “blowing up” after he posted pictures of himself storming the Senate. ...
The other odd thing here is apparently there was an influx of male members around Jan 6th. So they came to town and looked for a date while they were there?

The Arizona Republic asked the state House of Representatives to provide any such messages from Rep. Mark Finchem, R-Oro Valley, and then-Rep. Anthony Kern, R-Glendale, under public records laws.

But responding through a private attorney, and not the House, the duo said they would not turn over any records that are on their “personal devices,” arguing that these are not public records.

Second officer at the Battle of Capitol Hill dies by suicide.
Quote:
A second police officer who responded to the attack on the Capitol by a violent mob on Jan. 6 has died by suicide, according to the acting Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) chief.

Acting MPD Chief Robert Contee identified the officer as Jeffrey Smith, who he said was injured while trying to help contain the mob of former President Trump's supporters attempting to stop Congress from certifying President Biden's electoral victory.

"That was a very sad and tragic situation for us," Contee said during a press conference on Wednesday. "He had been injured as a result of the confrontation that had occurred at the Capitol and a couple of days after that, the officer, he took his life."

That two cops killed themselves because they were traumatised by the Capitol Riots, just doing their job, speaks volumes.

What would drive them to this?

Oh man, no wonder you surrounded yourself with goons.

Interesting he was 'arrested' a couple of days before the Capitol Riots...? Was he getting intelligence protection?

It probably doesn't help that the capitol police is rightly being blamed for contributing heavily to the chaos of the day. They were caught asleep at the wheel.

It's bad enough to get the **** kicked out of you by CHUDs, it's even worse for everyone after the fact to blame you for failing in your duty to prevent the disaster.

Even for individual cops that acted bravely and appropriately, they are part of a larger organization that absolutely failed that day, and that must be very demoralizing.

I suspect a big part of it is a belief that they failed to prevent the murder of a brother officer.

To put this in greater detail:

Unlike many nonviolent protests, which happily bring along medics, lawyers, observers, and the like, and who state clearly that violence is not welcome (among other instructions for where to place cell phones, what people will put themselves at risk of arrest, etc.), these goons were widely known to have planned a violent attack on the US capitol. Not just some secret group that planned things out in some mountains in - no, this was reddit/4chan level stuff.

groups like the Women's March, the March for Science, and BLM are advised not to bring signs on sticks. How did people bring spears, flexcuffs, bear spray, tasers and the like into the Capitol? The leadership's answers seems to be "optics". This is exactly when those concerns should be set aside - rather than, you know, tear-gassing a street so Toupee Fiasco can take a goofy photo.

IOW, it's not just that they had to face actual "we want to kill people" violent goons, it's that their own leadership hung them out to dry, at the exact time when they should not have. This is the "economic anxiety" talking point, taken to it's logical conclusion. "That's the Blue Lives Matter folks, they never mean us no harm! Wait, why are they stabbing and tasing police!?"

Surprise, they hate y'all, and love violence. Just like we've been warning for years now.

Seems like the 3 charged with conspiracy is just the tip of the iceberg. Prison is going to be busting with Oathkeeper CHUDs.
I'm all for being lenient with Oathkeepers who help identify all the members of the group: let them go on probation and ban them from ever having a gun.

We can check in a year later and sent them all to prison, because they all with have illegally obtained a firearm.
