Woman Killed by Illegal Immigrant in San Francisco
This is getting a lot of play, at the moment:
"The man accused of firing the deadly shot -- 45-year-old Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez -- is an undocumented immigrant, a repeat felon who has been deported five times to Mexico, according to immigration officials." http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/03/us/san...ted/index.html "U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Sanchez was turned over to San Francisco authorities on March, and that the agency had asked for him to remain in custody until immigration authorities could pick him up. That request was not honored, ICE told The Associated Press." http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/...border-n386646 Trump was probably praying for something like this. In any case, he didn't waste any time exploiting it and scapegoating immigrants. This story does beg a few valid questions. Namely, why the hell didn't San Francisco honor ICE's request to keep this guy in custody? And we've deported this guy five times already? Seriously? Is there a revolving door on the border? Is it that easy to come across? And on the 6th time coming here illegally, he [allegedly] shoots this poor girl. That makes us look incompetent. It fits in perfectly with the narrative that we essentially have an open border with mexico. This is eerily similar to the Willie Horton incident that hurt Dukakis. The anti-immigration crowd are going to be all over this and Trump will surge in the polls. |

Is SF a "sanctuary city"? Ya know, one of those towns that do not work with the Border Patrol to handle the illegals?

Deporting people, even criminals, seems like a waste of time and money, accomplishing nothing significant.

Trump doesn't have to pray for something like this to happen, it's fairly common already.
We won't know for sure regarding this instance for a while, but San Francisco's "Sanctuary City" status is most likely the reason the authorities were not cooperating with ICE. This isn't the first time they shielded a violent illegal alien from deportation who in turn went on to commit murder. At least there was only one victim this time instead of three like the last time. http://blog.sfgate.com/djsaunders/20...city-for-whom/ |

Yes, among other failings.

So....What are one's chances of being shot by an evil illegal immigrant as opposed to say...Being struck by a falling slug on New Year's Eve?
Any homicide is a tragedy, but there are many millions of "illegals" in this country who don't appear to be doing anything more illegal than mowing lawns and nailing shingles. |

The media LOVES stories like this despite the fact this kind of crime is vanishingly rare. It ticks all the right boxes: attractive young WHITE LADY gunned down AT RANDOM by a swarthy immigrant IN PUBLIC.

Right, but instead of being "vanishingly rare" people are going to wonder why it's possible at all. And they're right to do so. It's ridiculous that someone illegally enters the country six times, has a record of seven felony offenses, and then isn't kept in custody like ICE requests.
That's a policy failure, not a statistical fluke. |

I see Immigration is quick to deflect to S.F.
Were all 7 deportations from SF, or is there enough blame for six more towns? Or should the blame lie squarely on the shoulders of the Border Patrol, who allowed him to come back, x7? |

Didn't 2 of the 19 9/11 hijackers get issued green cards (or some sort of official paper of some kind) months after they died in the attacks? Or was that a UL?

Maybe it's time for the Vigilante commitees to return to San Francisco if the politicians are unwilling to protect the citizens of San Francisco....

I hang with illegal migrant workers all the time. Shockingly they have never raped me or shot me. Strange, I know.

Don't worry, Donald Trump will build a great, great wall, and make Mexico pay for it. Somehow.
This sort of crime will occur every now and again. And in truth, it's not much of a threat to the vast majority of us in the US. You're far better off worrying about the people you know personally, than some undocumented immigrant. |

Since it's Cain, I'll take this post with a big bite of salt lick, but I have heard this kind of thing before meant in all seriousness. My response in all cases is, and?
Dismissing a murder of an attractive young white lady because of who she is is just as distasteful than focusing on her for that reason. |

I'm sure it is and it should be their problem.
Uh huh. Not really. Caring about border security would help. Our government (both sides) invites these problems, literally, by promising amnesty, health care, tax returns, drivers licenses - if you can manage to sneak into our country. You don't even have to sneak anymore. I don't want to pay to imprison criminals who sneak into our country - yes it is our country, not theirs or anyone else's - I want them kept out. We need to control and limit who comes here, everyone from engineers to fruit pickers. It's all about money. Government doesn't "care" about these people - it's just money and power, same as everything else. They only make it about compassion in order to gain people's sympathy and approval/blind eye. |

Not the first time crime by immigrants has become an issue in San Francisco:

Or being killed by a federal employee's sig-sauer that somehow wound up in the hands of an illegal immigrant with just a bit of an arrest record.
http://abc7.com/news/sources-sf-pier...ts-gun/834205/ This **** just got interesting. |

The story this guy has concocted is getting stranger. Originally, he had "found" the stolen weapon wrapped in a rag by a park bench. When he picked it up, it went off....3 times...
Now, he's saying that he had gone to the pier to shoot sea lions..... And somehow the weapon went of accidentally. |

If we jailed illegals for breaking federal immigration laws, he would not have been deported FIVE TIMES. At least it would have slowed the revolving door. Or is prison in America better than freedom in Mexico?
