Mike Lindell set August 13 as the date in his bonkers theory that Trump will be reinstated as president

Mia Jankowicz10 hours ago

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell claimed that Trump would be back in the White House by August 13.

It's the first time he's put a specific date to the groundless theory.

The 2020 election, which Biden won, will be "pulled down" and the "communists" routed, Lindell said.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell said he believed former President Donald Trump would take the impossible step of being reinstated as president on August 13.

Speaking to Brannon Howse on the conservative WVW Broadcast Network on Sunday, Lindell said that by that date Trump's reinstatement would "be the talk of the world."

"Donald Trump won," he claimed. "I mean, it's pretty simple, OK?"

There is no legal path for Trump to be reinstated, as Insider's Jake Lahut and Grace Panetta reported.

I don't get the reasoning. I am hesitant to say "insanity"... but it looks like insanity, to me.

I would like to know the "how" part of the claim.

He's specifically going to be "back in the White House" by August 13th. He contacted his Representative and scheduled a tour.

That's because there isn't any- it's a purely emotive "we wuz robbed!" reaction from folks who cannot fathom the idea that their side simply lost. Since the whole idea behind democracy is that one side or the other must lose, it's certainly a danger when either side begins to base their brand on the idea that their loss is just not possible. I have no doubt a certain amount of insanity enters into Lindell's specific case, but that's almost irrelevant to the fact that his broader thesis is one shared by around half of the Republican party (Yahoo News), not to mention pushed by many irresponsible GOP pols eager to cash in on that stat.

See above- there will be no "how" on something they think will happen from people who can't understand the "what" in what did happen.

I wouldn't put much faith in that 53% number, with only 754 Republicans polled. I actually find the "25% of all Americans" claim to be highly suspect, as well.

Maybe it is true, though; I may not surround myself with enough idiots.

It's not surprising -- they still can't get over the idea that they lost the civil war.

Yeah, Statistics is a funny thing that a lot of people don't understand, but looking at a population of 340 million, with a target group of about 50%, to get a confidence level of 95% and a 5% error level, you only need to have a sample size of 385 people. Having 754 is near enough to twice that number, which isn't going to change the confidence levels a lot, but does lower the error level and certainly exceed the numbers required for a valid survey.

(If you're unsure as to what the Confidence level and error levels are, then using the numbers you have with the levels I have listed, it would mean that there is a 95% chance that the real number falls between 48% and 58%)

ETA: Using the actual figures give in the poll, then there is a 95% chance that the real percentage is between 49.44% and 56.56%.

Wow!

This is odd, even for the likes of Mike Lindell because 13 AUG 2021 will be on a Friday. Furthermore, this date also serves to undermine that Trump-O'Rielly speaking tour that they are supposed to be having during the late summer/early fall of 2021.

So I guess that when Trump fails to get reinstated on 13 AUG 2021, then Lindell will blame a witches curse, or the actions of evil Templar Knights, or the local black cat, or some such other nonsense for the failure of said reinstatement.

A better explanation is that Lindell has very few, if any at all, cogs meshing in his brain-mush. Certainly none that control his outbursts.

Today's CPAC is a evidence of how far the GOP has fallen. Their fearmongering and lying is completely insane. In addition to the usual "Trump won the election" lies, Rep. Madison Cawthorn claimed that Biden's call for "volunteers to go door to door" to encourage and help people to get vaccinated would require a massive governmental mechanism that could lead to guns and bibles being confiscated:

Quote:
"The thing about the mechanisms they would have to build to be able to actually execute that massive of a thing—and then think about what those mechanisms could be used for. They could then go door-to-door to take your guns. They could then go door-to-door to take your Bibles," he stated.
What Biden actually said:

Quote:
"Now we need to go to community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood, and oftentimes, door-to-door—literally knocking on doors—to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus," he continued. "Look, equity, equality, it remains at the heart of our responsibility of ensuring the communities that are the hardest hit by the virus have the information and the access to get vaccinated."
So, as we shift from the centralized mass vaccination sites where we were doing thousands of people a day, we're going to put even more emphasis on getting vaccinated, in your community, close to home, conveniently, and in a location you're already familiar with," he concluded.
https://www.newsweek.com/madison-caw...bibles-1608503

Of course, Cawthorn is a proven liar. He claimed his then best friend left him to die in the burning car crash that left him paralyzed. That is not true. Depositions from two witnesses of the accident said Cawthorn was pulled from the vehicle by his then best-friend.

Quote:
He was my brother, my best friend. And he leaves me in a car to die in a fiery tomb," Cawthorn said of the accident. "He runs to safety deep in the woods and just leaves me in a burning car as the flames start to lick my legs and curl up and burn my left side." Cawthorn also claimed he was pronounced dead at the scene, but thanks to "adrenaline or divine intervention, I definitely believe it's the latter, I had a deep inhale of breath."

The problem, of course, is that none of it was true. According to Ledford, he saved Cawthorn's life. "That statement he made was false," Ledford told The Washington Post. "It hurt very badly that he would say something as false as that. That is not at all what happened. I pulled him out of the car the second that I was able to get out of the car." And, according to a court deposition, Cawthorn claims he has no memory from the accident. And per a police accident report and Florida Highway Patrol records, Cawthorn was "incapacitated and in critical condition" but was not declared dead.
Cawthorn also lied about the accident preventing him from attending the Naval Academy. In truth, Cawthorn already had been rejected by the Academy before the accident occurred.

CPAC is just a convention of delusional liars. In other words: Trump supporters.

A lot of anger from the Trumpers about the Marvel Cincematic Universe becoming "woke" since they announced Captian America 4 last week, which will go with The Falcon being promoted to Captian America as seen in final secnes of Avengers:Endgame. They went rabid at the thought of a Black Captain America.

I just saw two women at CPAC who claimed that non-Trump supporters were bringing in people to riot at the Capitol and claimed that 'we don't know who these people were' at the insurrection. The other woman claimed that it was "************" to call the riot an insurrection. The amount of denial is staggering.

TX is once again trying to pass their restrictive voting laws in an effort to, as they claim, make voting more secure. This all comes directly from pushing the Big Lie that the 2020 election was not secure and massive voter fraud occurred. However:

GOP Pols Forced to Admit the ‘Big Lie’ Is BS During Farcical Texas Showdown

Quote:
Republican lawmakers were forced to admit they have not seen any evidence of widespread election fraud during a Saturday showdown in the Texas State House over restrictive “election integrity” measures being taken up in a special session called by Gov. Greg Abbott.

What Abbott is looking to achieve, among other things, is a ban on 24-hour and drive-through voting, implementing strict new voter ID requirements for mail-in ballots, a prohibition on absentee ballot applications from being sent out proactively, and an expansion of the authority granted to partisan poll watchers.
Quote:
But in a hearing before the Texas Senate Committee on State Affairs on Saturday, GOP Sen. Bryan Hughes, committee chair and author of S.B. 1, admitted to Sen. Royce West, a Democrat, that Republicans had not done, nor were they aware of, any studies analyzing the disparate impacts of voting restrictions on people of color.
Quote:
Hughes was unable to provide examples of any fraud associated with drive-through voting. He was also at a loss when asked about voter fraud linked to ballot dropboxes, saying, “I think most people agree that putting an important document like a ballot in the hands of an election worker is a lot better than dropping it in some slot overnight unprotected, not knowing what's going to happen to it, I mean, I feel pretty strongly about that.”
Quote:
As for his proposed ban on 24-hour voting, Hughes said he had not heard of any fraud cases related to the practice during the 2020 presidential election.

“I know that we heard testimony that there was difficulty getting election workers and poll watchers, but I don’t know that [there was] evidence of fraud,” said Hughes.
Quote:
Keith Ingram, director of the Elections Division at the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, echoed Hughes’ admission that drive-thru and 24-hour polling places had not been an issue.

“I don’t think we have any evidence of actual fraud,” he said. “There are discrepancies that resulted because of the failure to check the machines...on a continual basis throughout the voting process. So, there were problems involved with it, but nothing that we’ve seen rises to [the level of] fraud.”
Quote:
“Don’t get me wrong, we shouldn't have fraud at all,” Sen. West pressed White [division chief of the Texas Attorney General’s Election Integrity Division], questioning his description of “massive” voter fraud in the state. “But if someone is saying that the building’s on fire, trying to scare people... In the state of Texas, we have 44 defendants. And we had—what was the number in this last election?—over 11 million people to vote.”
That’s a rate of .0004 percent, West noted.

[44 individual defendants, according to White—only one of which is related to the 2020 election. ]

Fox News has also been throwing fits about a new Captain America comic series that starts with Cap musing about how the American Dream can be turned into nationalism and become a lie. They turned it into Captain America saying that the American Dream is dead and a lie. They brought in Dean Cain and Kevin Sorbo to complain about it.

Quote:
The issue in question opens with Steve Rogers reflecting upon the fact that he has often noted that he does not stand for the American government but rather for the American Dream, but here he thinks about how the "American Dream" is misunderstood and too easily turned into Nationalism, and when that happens, the "American Dream" becomes a lie, since the dreams of many often excludes the poor, immigrants and other "others," so it is not a real dream.

Fox, naturally, latched on to the lines "The first American dream is the one that isn't real" and "A good dream is shared. Shared radically. Shared with everyone. When something isn't shared, it can become the American lie" and then brought on guests to react to Marvel saying that the American Dream is "dead" and "a lie." Sorbo went on Fox Business' Varney & Co to denounce the cherry-picked lines he was asked to respond to, noting "We keep reaching new levels of insanity" and that "America is a great country. This is just another example of lies from the left."
Quote:
Cain, the former star of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, also appeared on Fox and Friends a couple of days earlier to also respond to the clipped quotes, stating, “I love the concept of Captain America, but I am so tired of this wokeness and anti-Americanism. In my opinion, America is the greatest country in history. It’s not perfect. We are constantly striving for a more perfect union, but I believe she’s the most fair, equitable country anyone’s ever seen, and that’s why people are clamoring to get here from all over the globe.”

Are you seriously trying to tell me the right wing is misrepresenting facts in order to further their own agenda? Tell me it ain't so, Joe!

Yeah, I always set great store on what has been actors like Cain and Sorbo say about politics. What next? Am I suppose to take Scott Baio's opinions seriously? I'll just bring in the Big Guns like Jimmy Walker and Marcia Marcia Marcia Maureen McCormick to counter them. That'll show 'em!

If President Trump woke up and found himself as African American would people still vote for him? I rest my case.

Actually, Lindell is proof that a lot of Americans have zero skepticism. They are SO easy to fool and manipulate. And they cling ferociously to their bad decisions. Lessons of history just pass them by.

More excuses from Trump as to why the SC ruled against GOP lawsuits:
Quote:
Former President Donald Trump on Sunday voiced concerns about "unexpected rulings" in the Supreme Court, saying the court has issued rulings unfavorable to the Right "because the nine justices do not want to be packed."

"We're getting some unexpected rulings because the nine justices do not want to be packed. And the Democrats are in a position to pack the court and they don't want to be packed," Trump said.

While it is unclear which cases Trump was referencing, the court previously rejected his bid to overturn the 2020 general election results, allowed his tax returns to be divulged to a New York prosecutor, and upheld the Obama-era Affordable Care Act, which Trump was eager to dismantle.

I wonder if he knows what court packing actually is.

Why do people lie about things that can be so easily verified? To what end?

When I think about "left-wing wokeness gone too far" I definitely don't think about the colour of Cap's skin.

The effects of the post-fact world are on full display here: they simultaneously claim that the insurrection was staged by the FBI, compose of Antifa people, and that those who committed it were just tourists who weren't threatening, etc.

That those are contradictory positions is of no importance, and of no impact.

I see. It's like some e-mail scams. If you take the bait, you're probably already the time of person who'll believe anything.

Back when Sam became Cap and Jane Foster became Thor in the comics, I saw a webcomic that showed a guy shrieking about how the SJWs at Marvel were out of control. It was accompanied by a pie chart that was almost entirely green, labeled "White Male Superheroes", with a tiny blue sliver labeled "Everyone Else". One of the plot points in Falcon & the Winter Soldier was the belief that America would never accept or allow a black Captain America. It's been shown that the consumers of fiction benefit from seeing positive characters who are like themselves. Some people don't want to see anyone who isn't like themselves and see such characters as an attack on them.

Lindall is not even a good con mam ..in making a prediction, you NEVER give a exact date, just make it vague. You can keep saying "It will happen soon!" ad infinitum. Give a specific date, you are limiting how long you can keep the grift going.
