When's the last time he actually saw her? Do they still have separate bedrooms?

'Scores of people left early': Trump supporters walked out of rally after his speech 'fell flat'

Maybe he wasn't getting a good feedback loop from the audience but he sounded fairly lackluster. Maybe he's experiencing a bit of depression as mentally ill people are known to do.
The same thing happened during his presidency, it just wasn't widely reported on. Once he went into full-on rant mode, often people would get that 'glazed over' look since they had no idea what the hell he was talking about, and if they were towards the back, they often found themselves leaving or scrolling through social media instead.

Washington Post (paywalled) had some coverage of a rally in Phoenix in 2017 in which that was the case:
Quote:
Three times, the crowd burst into chants of “USA! USA! USA!” And once, at the mention of Trump's former rival Hillary Clinton, they chanted: “Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!” Several parents put their young children on their shoulders so they could get a good look at the president.

But as the night dragged on, many in the crowd lost interest in what the president was saying.

Hundreds left early, while others plopped down on the ground, scrolled through their social media feeds or started up a conversation with their neighbors. After waiting for hours in 107-degree heat to get into the rally hall — where their water bottles were confiscated by security — people were tired and dehydrated and the president just wasn't keeping their attention. Although Trump has long been the master of reading the mood of a room and quickly adjusting his message to satisfy as many of his fans as possible, his rage seemed to cloud his senses.
Washington Post: As Trump ranted and rambled in Phoenix, his crowd slowly thinned

107 degrees and they still wanted to see him?

One more piece of evidence that they're idiots.

Are you kidding me? With outside temps over 100 degrees you're not allowed to bring a water bottle into a maga rally? What's the thinking behind that? At some point you might hurl it at trump?

The average trump fan seems so obedient, mindlessly obedient. Imagine...

Quote:
Security: Hand over the Poland Springs. You can't bring that in
Wife: Wait, I need it, please.
Husband: Honey! Give him your water bottle. Come on. It's security, babe.
Wife: Okay!

Over the coming weeks and months I think there'll be similarities between Dump and Hitler-in-the-bunker. Increasingly lashing out at everyone and everything, wanting to burn it all down. Especially if his MAGAchuds really start thinning out at the rallies.

Speaking of which. Those damnable rallies. Like Hitler there, too, although the Austrian chap had to give them up because of being preoccupied with that little thing that got the world worked up. Is Dump going to stay at it while engaged in his own little war in the courts?

Of course he is. That's all he knows how to do to "reach the people", and it also soothes his bruised and bloated ego, and rakes in the sucker-money. They love him! They adore him! Ahhh!

Colbert covers the things you might have missed in Dump's rally speech. First 10 minutes, it gets better as it goes along.

It was fun watching Trump flail around trying to remember the name of the first man who landed on the "plant" (the moon is a plant...or even a planet? Who knew?) . It was so obvious he was stalling for time desperately trying to remember it. And saying 'law and auto' was just a normal one off whereas Biden, who as a known stutter, slips up like that and he's got dementia.

He acshually said "Law and Odo", which was clearly a reference to how space aliens are going to come down to Earth and declare the election a fraud and re-install him as their puppet the president next month.

If Trump wins in 2024, then we shouldn't have elections anymore. Think about how liberating that would be. No more campaigns, debates, arguments, politics.

Given his age, seems that we would probably be back into a period of power struggles pretty quickly.

They never did.
Barr always thought Trump was a child that needed help putting on its pants.
And Trump thought that Barr could, with a snap of the finger, have Clinton and Biden arrested and sent to Guantanamo.

I despise Barr, but I have to admit he called Trump's claim the election was stolen exactly what it is in NSFW language.

MSNBC called Barr out on his trying to rewrite history. Barr fully supported the voter suppression law curtailing absentee voting despite speaking out of the other side of his mouth that there was no significant absentee ballot fraud.

Can we please, PLEASE, PLEASE rename the thread when it's time for the next split? "The Trump ex-presidency" works perfectly well.
I shall now report this post.

Clearly I misheard "auto" when it was "Odo". It's due to hearing what I want to hear after being indoctrinated by commiesocialistAmericahating university professors sneaking in all that Critical Race Theory crap. I suspect now Louis Gohmert was right and they were Russian and Chinese who had been born in this country as 'terror anchor babies' with the intention of sending them back in 20 years to be sleeper agents. How naive I was then!

I thought it was "Law and Odor" in reference to the stench of his criminal business (self-)dealings.

A rather... bizarre... letter written by Wisconsin republican Chris Kapenga. Trump was critical of him for not setting up a vote audit (like the one in Arizona). Kapenga wrote a letter asking Trump to retract his comments. But, he also went out of his way to complement Trump....

Excerpts from the letter: from: Washington Post
Mr. President,
One of the most frustrating things to watch during your Presidency was the continued attacks on you from fake news outlets with no accountability to truth.
...
This leads me to your recent press release stating that I am responsible for holding up a forensic audit of the Wisconsin elections. This could not be further from the truth.
...
Let me first say that very few people have the honor of being named publicly by a United States President. I never imagined mine would be mentioned, much less in this light, from a President that I have publicly supported, and still support. I feel I need to respond even though you will likely never hear of it, as the power of your pen to mine is like Thor’s hammer to a Bobby pin.
...
Nevertheless, I need to correct your false claim against me. I never received a call from you or any of your sources asking about the election audit. If you had, I would have told you that long before your press release I called the auditor in charge of the election audit that is taking place in Wisconsin and requested a forensic component to the audit.

Rather bizarre... Trump "wronged" him, but he can't help but lay on the complements. (If the republicans weren't so subservient to Trump, you might almost think parts of his letter were him being sarcastic.)

It comes across to me as Kapenga feeling the need to defend himself against Trump's attack yet scared of crossing him at the same time, thus the arse kissing.

Well, yeah, that might have been his intent.

But, a smarter individual would realize that:

- Trump's ego and irrationality will not allow him to admit mistakes (heck, even if someone pointed out his mistake, he'd still probably repeat it). So, he's not going to get the retraction he seeks from Trump

- He could have still been complementary to Trump, without being so... over the top

So he has gone and made himself look like the beta male for absolutely no reason.

It seems Donald's rally in Alabama has been cancelled.
I wonder why.
Could it be the hundreds leaving halfway through the last rally?

Edit to add

It seems it was cancelled by commissioners of the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park who denied the permit under a longstanding ban on political events.
Commissioners said that the park ceased hosting political rallies after former Pennsylvania Sen Rick Santorum hosted a presidential campaign rally at the site in 2012.

The local Republican Party, they added, indicated that the event would be more geared towards Mr Trump’s political interests than a celebration of Independence Day.

My reply had nothing to do with either of those. It had to do with Barr trying to rewrite a clean slate for himself in the history books, whitewashing the actions he took earlier that supported the Big Lie.

Well, darn!

Now we won't get to see Donny in a revealing swimsuit singing while sitting astride one of the big gun barrels of a battleship.

How did they not realize this would be "political" as soon as they heard it was Donald Trump? Did they think he was just going to get up there and tell people about how much he enjoys comparing fabric swatches?

He's still developing his style.

He's gradually working his way up to the mid-eighteenth century.
