They're not dishonest at all. ****, Stewart even admitted as much in his interview with Chris Wallace. But, as he flatly stated, the joke comes first. He and Wallace perform different functions; there is no equivalence. These guys are comics with a political viewpoint, and that's what they say they are. They advocate politics in the same fashion as Coulter and Limbaugh.

The yelling and screaming at UC is par for the course, but when physical assaults enter the mix it's time to shut down the festivities.
In California in general and Berkeley in particular, the PTB have pretty much come to the conclusion that LE intervention will only make matters worse so enforcement is limited to containment of the protesters/rioters/anarchists/******** in question. I don't want any return to the days of Bull Conner, but a bunch of the AIQ's in Berkeley could benefit from a little wooden therapy. |

Maybe, but I doubt it.

No. If they are here illegally, they should not get citizenship. There must be consequences for breaking the law.
I'm open to the argument for providing them legal resident status (contingent on fixing a number of related issues), but I see no moral imperative of any kind to grant them citizenship. |

The first thing I found was about liberals getting mad at him for making fun of the Obamacare rollout. There's a lot of analysis of his "just a comedian" shtick from around that time. But I guarantee you that he's hidden behind that same line when people have complained about misleading editing done to make fun of people (usually Republicans and conservatives). And the amount and level of misleading editing his show does is mind-boggling.

Here is ~15 minutes of Jon Stewart claiming he's just a comedian. He does this so often, it's referred to his "clown nose on, clown nose off" schtick.

Here. I may have exaggerated the almost 100% stuff, although I think it's probably true if you count only specific sources that those people turn to (i.e. they're not the types to tune into news shows, but they do tune into The Daily Show).

Wow, does Stewart come off as a total sanctimonious prick in that segment. I've seen it before, but I had forgotten about it. Goddamn what an ass. And did you notice that in the last 40 seconds, he contradicts the point he was making for the last 14 minutes, gets called out, and just sits there with a goofy look on his face like "oh, I guess I really don't have a coherent thought in my head, do I?"

Local PBS radio, KUOW, discussion just now about Milo's visit to the UW. Indignant Republican blames Progressives and liberals for putting all Republicans in the alt-right category.
Note, Republicans invited Milo to all these campus events. Hellooo, the alt-right just took over your Party and the Republican legislators are going right along with it. Who are these moderate Republicans and why aren't they standing up to this ****** On another note, a reporter attended the event, it was "content free" and mostly consisted of the same attacks on women as Milo promoted with Gamergate. Scroll down this blog entry to see two slides Milo brought with him that typify the talk. |

I think in a way this blatant hypocrisy all around is hilarious. I'm a big believer in free speech and think I'm a hypocrite when I want this ******* to shut it, but I also find it like being tolerant of Islam. Why should I be tolerant of people professing ideas that aren't the least bit tolerant and wouldn't hesitate to take away my fee speech?

Officer safety has to be #1 because if an officer goes down you've got an officer to extract and less resources to do it with, plus the base problem you already had.
