Yeah, that's not what I was referring to. I don't have any examples of what I am talking about because I've been basically off Twitter for quite a while now so I probably shouldn't try to push this angle too much.

Anyway.

That just made me check the price on DWAC stock, which is supposed to take Truth Social public. $13.29 per share.

Cool! I wonder if Trump will announce his presidential run with Rudy Giuliani or someone like that. What’s that!? He’s already announced? Announce again!

This. The "outrage about something" articles which are nothing but a copy and paste of a few tweets.

"I had the best announcement, with all the world's press in attendance, the biggest announcement from any candidate in the history of the world. All channels on every continent showed it live. Billions watched my perfect announcement, more than any other announcement and DeSanctimonious announced his on a failing social media site alongside a failed businessman watched by no one. They are both losers."

Musk needs to be careful nailing himself to DeSantis. Trump is still the beloved of the mob and mobs can always turn.

Making nice with DeSantis is Musk's idea of being "fair and balanced"

It's revenge against Trump for not returning to Twitter. There's no ideological union between Musk and DeSantis, it's Musk's ego trying to punch back at Trump.

I'm not convinced there's no ideological union between Musk and DeSantis. I think a lot of Musk fans who still imagine themselves to be left-leaning will latch onto that idea as a get-out-of-cognitive-dissonance-free card, but I haven't seen evidence to suggest any ideological incompatibility between the two.

Trump can't return to Twitter due to a legal contractual obligation. He absolutely would if he could, in a minute.

Musk has explicitly said he supports Republicans now because apparently Democrats are nasty compared to GOP. Pretty much all of his friends are explicit supporters of the Republicans. Look, he even brought that idiot Dave Rubin round the Twitter offices to interrogate his own engineers about why cattiurd’s account wasn’t more popular and after finding no evidence it was throttled tried to boost the profile. Rubin is a self-hating gay who performatively moved to Florida to support DeSantis.

The Musk/DeSantis Space is happening now, I just saw on Elon Musk's Twitter feed. No time to check it out. Just a heads-up if you feel like poking your eyes out.

Those Commie libtards at the Grainiad are covering it with their usual Marxist sneering….

Quote:
This odd launch to DeSantis’s campaign has partly become an advertisement for Twitter.

Musk and Sacks played off the glitches on Twitter as DeSantis “breaking the internet”. It’s unclear why Twitter didn’t anticipate 500,000 listeners for a presidential announcement.
See! They broke the internet. The whole internet - created by the government so no wonder it it breaking. Not Twitter! Twitter is definitely not now understaffed and/or badly run.

This is so winning that the internet itself is sick of the winning.

I think that once he's burned a bridge, he would be resistant to coming back to it, because that would require him admitting to himself that he made a mistake. He is incapable of that.

Surprised to see anyone thinking Trump will be held back by contracts or looking like a hypocrite. He won’t care if he literally does the opposite thing he said he would five minutes ago. He would just deny he ever said what he is being held accountable for.

Almost his entire political life involves doing things that he criticized in previous tweets. He is not bound by truth. He is a ********ter. This is what he does.

Some audio from the event. It was a disaster. Apparently they had 3 guys in the same physical room using microphones for this and nobody realized that one person's vocals would be picked up on another mic. They could have hired a teenager with a crummy podcast as a consultant to explain this stuff to them.

Unrelated to today's festivities: Someone has posted the entirety of John Wick 4 on Twitter. It was posted in the middle of a Wednesday. It's been up for 10 hours.

Jesus Christ! That's exactly how I would expect a presidential candidacy announcement to sound from someone nicknamed Pudding Fingers.

A billionaire arch-capitalist from a wealthy family from one of the most racially divisive countries in the world gravitates to the Republican party.... why that doesn't make any sense at all....

looks to me like elon wants to turn twitter into a right wing news platform, it's why he's pushing the video stuff so hard, and picked up tucker carlson and the daily wire. but, he botched this debut about as hard as possible.

Elon has a lot of ambitions that don't seem to mesh well with the incredibly diminished technical capacity of Twitter. He's announced many ambitions to massively expand what the website does while simultaneously running the existing service into the ground.

People like Tucker or DeSantis should be wondering it Twitter is even going to be capable of hosting video for the many thousands of viewers that they anticipate (or at least hope for).

And you know the lawyers for the movie studios are only waiting for the right moment to hit Musk with law suits over the film piracy going on at Twitter.
I think they are waiting for it to happen enough..which it will given the sloppy security at Twitter...to establish a pattern of negligance rather then just isolated incidents.

Musk says "All Presidential candidates are welcome on this platform."

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/...ct3Axx0poHksMA

Ignoring the Spaces DeSaster, Musk is trying to attract customers (because that's what you are on Twitter) and of course, Trump.

Well, the buggy disaster yesterday is not going to encourage other candidates to make Tiwtter a center piece of their campaign.
And, yes, I think Trump has decided Twitter not worth while anymore.

This is so winning that the internet itself is sick of the winning.
MSNBC put up a chart with other internet events that did not "break the internet" despite higher numbers. They include:

April the Giraffe giving birth: 1.2 million viewers
Buzzfeed making a watermelon explode: 800K viewers
AOC Playing a video game on Twitch: 430K Viewers
Christiano Ronaldo in the Sauna: 700K Viewers

By not putting up the resources to host the political event, Musk clearly assumed that no one would give a hoot about DeSantis.

Twitter is now worth just one-third of what Elon Musk paid for the social-media platform, according to Fidelity, which recently marked down the value of its stake in the company.

...

Twitter has struggled financially since Musk took over. After saddling the company with $13 billion of debt, Musk’s erratic decision making and challenges with content moderation led advertising revenue to decline by 50%, Musk said in March. An attempt to recoup that revenue by selling Twitter Blue subscriptions has so far failed to take off. At the end of March, less than 1% of Twitter’s monthly users had signed up.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/twitt...185709550.html

Musk both overpaid for the company and managed to sabotage its profitability. Impressive work.

As human right is always something given, it always in reality reduces to the right which men give, "concede," to each other. If the right to existence is conceded to new-born children, then they have the right; if it is not conceded to them, as was the case among the Spartans and ancient Romans, then they do not have it. For only society can give or concede it to them; they themselves cannot take it, or give it to themselves.

Another head of trust and safety resigned from Twitter. (CNBC link) Her team had marked noted fascist Matt Walsh's anti-lgbtq documentary as having violated Twitter TOS. Now Musk had invited Walsh's Daily Wire to provide content for Twitter and on the first day of Pride month Musk overruled his content moderation team to repost the video.

Shocking.
