I would agree with the quality aspect - no Beyoncé, no Jay-Z. Melania isn't using it as a platform for some pet program of hers. Quite a step up! Looks like the thread title is wrong. I read a long article on CNN and it sounds like the Easter event is going just fine, which is all that matters. Oh well. |

Once again, you're just being silly. Every modern First Lady has adopted a cause, and "healthy children" is about the most universally applicable, non-partisan, inoffensive cause imaginable. Laura Bush, former librarian, was all for reading. Hillary Clinton promoted children's health programs. Nancy Reagan was against illegal drugs. Would you rather have Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama working as partners in elite law firms? What would you say about that? And most people recognize married couples as teams. Military and diplomatic spouses are expected to support their spouses' careers. You think the Presidency is different?

That's really not up to either you or myself. If a segment of the population chooses to listen to Michelle Obama, and she chooses to utilize that influence, it's none of our business. If she was doing or saying something harmful, I would certainly speak up. But I don't get to tell someone else whom to listen to.

The more healthy the population is, the less the tax payers have to pay in healthcare. Surely as a libertarian, you care about that, Bob?

Do we really need another thread to devolve into one member's Socratic masturbation fodder?
