At this point observing consistency in Trump's statements would be powerful evidence toward the theory that his mental illness had gotten worse.

So if these "fraudulent" mail-in ballots wont stop going out and Trump should win... I wonder what he will do.

Just filled out my mail-in ballot, and was so pleased that at least in TN, Kanye's getting some respect!

By "respect" I assume you mean that you took the picture just before you filled in the little bubble.

So you have two mentally ill candidates from which to choose. Why do they have to make it so difficult?

If his ballot is anything like ours usually is, it'll be way more than two. My state, Washington, went to a "top two" primary system some years back. That means we usually wind up with one candidate from each major party, or sometimes two from the same party, but the fringes are excluded. Except that doesn't apply to the US Presidency. We'll probably have a dozen or more candidates there. I don't know if Kanye made it, but there'll be the usual Libertarians, Natural Law Party, Socialist Workers, etc.

I know you’re joking, but...

...we made the decision to become Tennessee residents and chose March 1 of this year as the “official” date. It made sense since we spend about 80% of our time at our TN digs, and Tennessee has no income tax.

When we applied for our TN driver’s licenses, we had the option to simultaneously register to vote, which we did. Of course, we’d only vote in one state, but we went the additional step of calling and having both of us removed from our county rolls in GA. Not sure that was legally required, but part of the mail-in ballot here has you certify you’re not registered to vote in any other state, so I’m glad we did.

In any case, TN is a solidly red state, so our votes matter little in the electoral sense, but at least we can make our mark in the popular vote count.

Most districts and states are not good about having accurate up-to-date voter rolls.
Seems Florida, and a few other states did a lot of work to clean up the lists of valid voters at valid current addresses- unrelated to Covid.

So in some areas, ballots are sent for everyone registered- often in error.
Requesting one from your current mailing address makes for more control.

e.g., I used to live in Nevada and never 'unregistered', so are they sending me a ballot at my old address? Is this cross referenced with California? Will I be getting one at my old Ohio address too?

If anyone had some unbiased factual info that can explain, I'd appreciate it!
It would need to go state by state since they all have their own processes.
I suppose people would only be interested in the States in play- so about 8 or 9 of them?

It is not clear at all why voter rolls need to be up-to-date.
If you have moved you won't be voting, whether you could or not.

the number pf people not being allowed to vote because they were incorrectly purged has always greatly outnumbered the number of people voting when they should no longer have been on the voter roll.

What is worse: denying someone their constitutional right to vote, or dilute the vote of all the voters by a minuscule fraction?

Voter fraud based on un-purged voter rolls is statistically irrelevant.
Voter suppression due to biased purging is not.

One of the worst polls in 2016 was the @FoxNews Poll. They were so ridiculously wrong. Fox said they were going to change pollsters, but they didn’t. They totally over sample Democrats to a point that a child could see what is going on. Rasmussen, which was accurate, at 52%.

It’s occurred to me that I may never have officially “unregistered” in FL when I moved to GA in 2005. I’m going to call later today to confirm I’ve been “purged”.

But it’s Broward County, so I can assume they’re on top of things down there!

RINO Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts is unsuccessfully trying to defend Mail In Ballots, when there is fraud being found all over the place. Just look at some of the recent races, or the Trump Ballots in Pennsylvania that were thrown into the garbage. Wrong Charlie!

Pentagon stresses it will play no role in the election

Quote:
The US military is adamant that it will not play a role settling election disputes with its top uniformed officer, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley clearly setting out the Pentagon's position in a letter to Congress last month.

"The Constitution and laws of the US and the states establish procedures for carrying out elections, and for resolving disputes over the outcome of elections ... I do not see the US military as part of this process," Milley said in the letter to two members of the House Armed Services Committee.

Each year the Athenian citizens could hold a vote to exile one of their own.
The voters would write the name of whoever they wished to exile on a pottery shard, called an Ostrakon. Hence the word ostracism

If an Athenian politician was seen as too power hungry, a potential tyrant, or just a dangerously delusional asshat, he would find himself in danger of being exiled.
This is a something we need to bring back.

Many Trump supporters have swallowed his lies that the only way a Biden win is possible will be because the elections was rigged, stolen. If Trump loses in Nov., I fully expect there to be violence by his supporters which Trump will either foment or, at the very least, not speak out against.

Two supporters express their opinion that a Trump loss will only happen due to a rigged election at the 3:30 mark.

The real concern would be in the supply chain of counting- and deciding which ones can be rejected for valid reasons. It is a big job this year!

In a statement, county officials said the issue regarding nine military ballots was caused by a "temporary seasonal independent contractor" who "incorrectly discarded (the ballots) into the office trash" within their first three days of work helping the elections office. On the third day, Luzerne County Elections Director Shelby Watchilla realized what had happened and opened an investigation, and the contractor "was removed from service and informed not to return."
The officials called this an "error" and said the fact that it was quickly noticed and investigated proves that "the system of checks and balances set forth in Pennsylvania elections works."
Yep, SEVEN ballots is huge, widespread voter fraud.

I called this afternoon and the Broward County clerk confirmed that I did in fact show as “moved out of state”. I don’t recall informing them of my move but I may have, or there may be some other mechanism where they figured out my move, maybe involving my drivers license change or tax status or change in mailing address or just inactivity in elections for about 15 years.

As an aside, I was 13th in a hold queue and held for maybe 15 minutes to get a real person. Pretty forgivable, given the import of the upcoming election.

A less than stellar start.

When I moved from Florida to Pennsylvania, I didn't contact any agency of any kind in Florida about it. One of them still ended up mailing something straight to me, not forwarded through the Post Office, so they knew my new address. Stranger yet, the thing they mailed to me was a jury summons. They knew where I was well enough to send something straight to me, but not well enough to notice that it meant there was no way I'd ever be on their jury.

When I moved, my college somehow found out my new address and their alumni association continued sending me solicitations for donations.

Can someone ask Democratic leaders, including BLM, if they will commit to a peaceful continuation of the Trump administration should Trump win reelection?

I have to agree that it might be a good idea to split America into two countries. The Red part would have police and electricity while the Blue part would be a charred hellscape. That way, everyone gets what they want.

I actually DID look- afterwards. And I am not registered there any longer. Not sure how it works.
It had not even occurred to me until I wrote that post. I was just sharing a 'possibility' that floated into my head on that day.

I sort of thought it worked like taxes and car regos and drivers licenses---they move with you. I didnt know though.
Actually, I still dont know really how it is done.

Also I finally found a"Biden" flag in my swing-ish district (lots of Trump flags!)

It is an older couple and I thought that perhaps they just decided to fly both flags and have two different colored chairs to sit in. Like James Carville and his wife, or Kellyanne Conway and George. It was funny enough for my to stop and take a photo...

But then I noticed something odd in the lettering:

I think the second part was still Adams, not Swoop.

Anyhow, the only vote that's going to matter in this election will be either 6-3 or 5-4 in favor of Trump.
