Pat Robertson Saves the Day

For those of our colleagues and friends who live in the possible path of Hurricane Florence thank Jeebus you're safe. You'll be glad to know that the ever reliable Pat Robertson has personally commanded the hurricane to veer off and not hit the land.

You couldn't make this stuff up!

Pat has long since lost any grip on reality. But not other peoples' money.

If for some reason it does not strike land then he will rake in millions. I think that is what he is hoping. And if it strike land, well there is always a next time.

... and there's all the land it didn't strike! That must surely be because they prayed much harder there, with Pat Robertson to assist them.

I noticed he was praying for Virginia, which wasn't slated to see much effect to begin with. Maybe he should go to South Carolina and pray there.

It's apparently down to a cat 3, for which I fully expect he'll be taking credit. Then again, maybe Trump threw some paper towels at it.

If there's a God he'll drown Trump's Charlotte golf course (nothing else, just the golf course). That shouldn't be a problem for the almighty, should it?

Thousands of people living near North Carolina's rising rivers have been ordered to evacuate and nearly 1 million people are without power amid fears the state could be in for the most destructive flooding in its history.

Key points:

US President Donald Trump has declared the state a disaster zone, as the death toll sits at least 11
Storm has slowed to walking pace and is still drawing water from the ocean
Hundreds of people rescued by authorities
The death toll from Florence, which has been downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm, climbed to at least 11 as US President Donald Trump declared the state a disaster zone.

Looks like Pat's prayers weren't good enough.
