Will www.internationalskeptics.com be only the forums?

//Note: Sorry I wasn't 100% sure whether to post this here, down in FMF, or elsewhere. Mods/Admin feel free to move as appropriate//

Just curious if they are any plans long or short term to host anything besides the forum on the www.internationalskeptics.com domain. Just posting/publishing some skeptical articles or blogs or whatnot might help us grow as a separate entity from JREF and would help bring in traffic.

Short, quick, answer: yes, I'd like to expand the site outside of just the forums.

What would a few of your off the cuff, non binding idea(s) be? I know previously you've mentioned community building, would such ideas be what you connected (non-bindingly)?

just brainstorming -

* Event listings with maps to make it see what's going on locally
* Member map to see who lives where for possible meetups
* Reddit-like AMAs with well known people of interest to the skeptic community
* IS scholarship fundraising (as per JREF forums for TAM)
* Annotated Skeptics Bibliography (idea from idoubtit to recreate a defunct resource)
* Member Blogs for more permanent/filled-out expression on a topic
* social network w/profiles
* IS coordinated and/or arranged events

Thanks for indulging my curiosity. I look forward to these ideas being fleshed out.

If we ran something like Meetup.com for the members it might be popular.

Why are we sponsoring the Islamic State?

They seem to know how to get things done. They also seem good at consensus building, as when they are through, there are no dissents.

That depends on the location of the caravan .

In Syria it's fine/ignored/part of the uprising against Assad - Near Kirkuk its bad [very very bad] & a threat to world peace.

Christ! I'm trying to organize a militia to go and fight alongside the Kurds. How are we supposed to do that calling ourselves "IS" and having a black banner with white lettering?

I think that's a bit severe even for repeated breaches of the MA but at least it would mean no sockpuppets.
