Never. Even with the gains they made they are nowhere near controlling the House and given the setup of the country probably never will. The Senate can't start Impeachment Proceedings.

When Obama took office Mitch McConnell said the sole function of his US Senate would be to make him a one-term president. You can't get much more obvious than that.
