The terrorist pilot had poor control, had to correct his inputs at the controls often, and thus the ride was wobbly and edgy and certainly would have had passengers spilling their drinks and complaining to the airline afterwards. But the maneuvers actually attempted were rather standard: Turning, descending, accelerating. All coordinated, I'd presume. Think of a kid that never drove a real car in a Porsche on a big empty parking lot trying to crash the main gate: He will be unfamiliar with how the pedals and the wheel react on the sports car, and the ride may not be smooth, speed varying wildly and path curving unnecessarily, but he'll manage to hit the gate without destroying the car first.

If you watch in not real time, compressed time, then it looks funny, but in real time you see the erratic inputs and failed flying.
Hani, Pentagon, his let down (to loose altitude because of poor planning) turn had erratic bank control, less than standard rate turn, etc, etc. Poor flying. If you watch the real time animation, it is slow, and pathetic flying. Nothing fancy, poor flying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vqDDlS9Hyw Less than standard rate turn means it took longer to turn... |
