To hell with ostrich eggs. The Quran says nothing about ostrich eggs The whole egg thing is just pure Muslim propaganda trying to justify the utter bunk in the Quran and make it seem more profound. The truth is Muhammad thought the world was flat.

These two verses are a completely different translation of the simplistic verse and the second (so called translation) is utter bunk, and everything in the brackets is not even related to the Quran, is it just speculation by the translator.

Here is what the Quran says about the earth. It says it is spread out like a carpet. (FLAT)

Chapter 51 Verse 48
And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: How excellently We do spread out!

Chapter 88 Verse 20
And at the Earth, how it is spread out?

Chapter 55 Verse 10
It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures

Chapter 71 Verse 19
"'And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out),

Chapter 15 Verse 19
And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance. View more verses

Chapter 50 Verse 7
And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm

The Qur'an clearly says that the world is shaped as an egg, as well as in many verses.

30- He made the earth egg-shaped
(79- The Snatchers, 30)

The Arabic word “dahw” means rotundity like that of the ostrich’s egg. The above verse was also interpreted to refer to the shaping of the earth in the form of an ostrich egg. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Ateş, former head of Religious Affairs in Turkey, gives the following definition of the word, based on the famous Arabic dictionary Lisan u’l Arab: “The word ‘dahw’ means to spread out, giving (something) a round shape.” Derived from the same stem, the word “medahi” referred to round stones. Despite the meaning of rotundity concealed in words derived from the word “dahw” there have been translators for whom a spherical earth was difficult to conceive, who had to translate it as “to spread out.” The actual shape of the earth does have the shape of an ostrich egg. Thus the shape of the earth is spheroid with depressions at the poles. The exact figure of the earth which had posed a problem throughout history was pointed out by the Quran, 1400 years ago.

Meanwhile, for example, the day of the apocalypse, land to be flattened, the mountain protrusions are flat. It's not about the shape of the planet.

Agreed. The quran is therefore wrong since earth is not egg shaped at all.

You made it about the shape of the planet. Nobody else. You. Now that you find that earth is not egg shaped, suddenly you have flipped to the quran is wrong and chucked it the notion that mountains are flat, another thing the quran gets utterly wrong.

It’s a video criticizing Christianity. It’s not a bad video in and of itself. It discusses the evolution of Christian theology as the Gospels were written and propagated, sort of how Islam evolved as it spread and the Koran was edited by Muhammad’s successors. It’s completely unrelated to the topic at hand. I’m at a loss to understand what he hoped to accomplish by posting it here. I suspect he STILL thinks he’s on a Christian forum of some kind.

It’s quite pathetic that the best defense he can offer of his version of Islam is to attack one of the religions it evolved from.

That is odd. Why does Emre think this is a christian forum?

A lack of attention perhaps? He may think that atheists and agnostics simply don’t exist.

I suspect he’s just copying and pasting the same content to multiple forums. He’s referred to us as “Christians” in a few of his posts. Links to things like the video above only really make sense in a false dichotomy “Christianity vs Islam” argument.

This also explains the rarity of him offering related replies to our posts.

I wonder if Emre_1974tr also believes Jews use the blood of gentile babies to make matzah.

Only if the Quran says so.

(Cue some seemingly irrelevant quotation which allegedly "proves" whether or not the Quran says so.)

I read between the lines of the Quran and it tells me the following things.

It was all stolen from the bible and other sources, and was designed to scare silly Arabs into fighting Muhammad's wars for him. It even promises them a great reward in heaven if they die in battle, and punishment if they turn back in the face of great odds.

Far from correcting the bible as the OP claims it corrupts the bible stories to suit Muhammad's purpose. For example it demotes Jesus from being the son of God and reduces him to just another prophet, and it says he was not crucified.

The truth as I read it is the Quran says the earth is flat and the sun orbits the earth.

Emre's interpretations are distortions of the truth that attempt to make the Quran more profound than it is. But this is only possible because the Quran is obscure and short of facts.

And,

The verse "setting of the sun مغرب الشمس" was mistranslated to "setting PLACE of the sun". The word PLACE was added by translators. It doesn't exist in Arabic Quran. This mistake contradicts context and Arabic grammar of the verse.

Wrong again. The Earth is not a sphere. Nor is it egg shaped. Your holy book appears to not even agree with itself. Like every other holy book.

"When the night and the day overlap, they make a ball"? Even if that's an accurate translation (which I have learned to doubt) it's gibberish.

If the writer had intended to say "the earth is round" then there must be clearer ways to say that than the obscure nonsense you claim it says. If this is supposed to be divinely inspired perfection, why is it so badly written?

What the Quran really means is the sun goes to a resting place under the flat earth and is reset every dawn at its starting point. There is a reputable hadith that makes this perfectly clear and your refusal to accept the hadiths Bukhari, is not in accord with mainstream Muslim thinking.

This would be the same quran that forgot to account for timezones with regards to ramadan right?

The Qur'an clearly says the Earth is the sphere.

Why are there mistakes in the some translations? Because interpreters often believe in the teachings of Hadith, sect and Sufism. And these teachings are also influenced by the false Torah and the False Injil.

Looking at the original verses, you see the truth.

The fake Injils and the false Torah say the world is flat.

The Quran says it is a sphere/egg form.

In context, it is spreading out a blanket on the flat, as it were.

The fact remains that the quran is wrong in every case, the earth is not flat, not spherical, not egg shaped. The quran is also strangely silent on the issue of mascons. I wonder why that is?

Not only about the shape of the world, but in many subjects, interpreters have made erroneous translations in the influence of the hadith, sect and Sufism teachings.

For example, in the False Torah, the punishment for adultery is death (rajm).

According to the Quran, the skin is to shoot a hundred sticks without damaging.

2 – The adulteress and the adulterer should be flogged a hundred lashes (jalda) each. Do not be swayed by kindness from carrying out God’s law, if you believe in God and the Last Day. And the punishment should be witnessed by a group of believers.
24 The Light, 2

http://quranic.org/rajm-stoning-to-death/

There is no rajm in real Islam.

And it corrects the mistake of the false Torah.

All this talk about eggs encouraged me to look into it.

http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2017/...hape-bird-eggs

Quote:
A sandpiper’s egg is shaped like a teardrop, an owl’s like a golf ball, and a hummingbird’s like a jelly bean. Now, for the first time, scientists have a convincing explanation for this stunning diversity: The shape of a bird’s egg depends on how much its species flies.

The Earth is not shaped like any kind of egg. If you look at it from a point perpendicular to the equator it is slightly elliptical but when you look from a point directly out from the poles it is spherical. No egg is shaped like that.

If Mohamed thought his god described the Earths shape as like an egg then he was clearly mistaken and either he, or his god, was having a bad day. To many eggnogs the night before perhaps.

Think of the ostrich's egg lying on the side, not the upright.

Iranian and Arab countries live close to the teachings of the false Torah and the false Injils.

In contrast, the Western world is living closer to the Qur'an's teachings.
