Sure. Did you notice he responded to the comment?

(I'm not saying the message on the Facebook page was responsible for the renewal, it may well have already been in hand. just pointing out that it did happen, and icerat saw it.)
All 100% irrelevant. This is probably triggered the renewal:

Remember all of the other systems that exist did not work in previous years and there is nothing to suggest they would have worked this year. Even the post in Facebook was probably triggered by this thread as it was created just after this thread.

Ah, I didn't even know such a thing existed, I was presuming it was the JREF page.

It doesn't have a lot of traffic, but icerat has been known to post there about upcoming maintenance and outages.

This time of year seems to be notorious for interrupted service, no doubt. Coincidentally, another event has just passed.

icerat says the latest outage was due to a problem at the data centre - his email went out as well.

Could've been worse. Could've been a light year.

Yeah, FB page said bill was paid. Probably just a coincidence this occurs generally at the same time every year.

I checked the Whois information during the outage, and it indicated the domain was renewed last month and was good until 2023.

This was something else, I assume just what Icerat reported.

I'm also not able to access this site with https, and haven't since I started lurking again for the last week or so. I have to use http.

ETA: Although, the browser bookmark I saved is also http, and that is probably at least a few weeks old. I don't remember when I saved it, but I had to reinstall my operating system a few months ago and started with a fresh set of bookmarks.

I never said what would happen if you waited a few more days. In fact, certain people took note of what I said; got very embarrassed; and then did something about it. They then denied my prediction had anything to do with their actions.

And what's the excuse for yesterday's outage?

Power cut?

One of my posts was moved to AAH. This upset God so badly that it brought down the server the forum is based on. I had to pray to God to allow it to be brought back up.
