I think we should go with NAFTA 2018 like the text of the agreement refers to it.

Trump doesn't live in the same world as us, though. His surprise over the world laughing at him in the UN proves as much.

Or just simply leaving the damn thing as NAFTA because it actually does encompass the entire North American continent, leaving out individual country names for the sake of diplomatic judiciousness.

But no. Trump had to put his stamp on it so the entire world for all eternity will never ever forget that this was Donald Trump's doing.

The text of the agreement refers to it as NAFTA 2018. We'll be calling NAFTA again before long because a good acronym doesn't require you to pronounce every letter.

Agreed.

Not only does the name change make zero sense, it's also an infantile move by the US president for infantile reasons.

And let's not forget the umpteen dollars it's going to cost every single business (manufacturers, suppliers, sellers), transport company, customer, vendor, government (local and federal), municipality, bank, etc etc to change the name at the top of every single NAFTA document, including any and all documents referencing anything about the NAFTA agreement.

Apparently our countries all have money to burn.

For the sake of a name change. Because baby boy didn't like it.

Anyway, what a ******* douche. I don't use that word often, but the man's a bullying misogynist. He clearly has a problem with women in general, as long as he doesn't have access to their nether-regions.

Did you get the Mr. Kurd bit?

https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brief...ng-mister-kurd

he didn't really let him ask his question, either.

He is actually quite brilliant, given that his answers would have made no sense whatsoever.

Wrong.

We'll be too drunk to find our way there, give up, turn around and head back home.

Only to find ourselves lost and stranded in some place called Tuktoyaktuk apologizing profusely to the local Inuit for accidentally running over their team mascot Sally the Seal...

And the worst part of this whole fiasco? We've run out of beer.

Mission failure.

I believe 'America' is the name of the continent. The official name of the country is the United States of America.

I believe it refers to North Korean leader Kim Jung Un.

I thought it was a nickname that Trump was using to refer to him, but it looks like its origins was from a nickname used in Kevin Smith films (who does the "jay and silent bob" films) to refer to a character that was chubby (like Kim Jung Un is.)

I don't know about six, but certainly an 11-12 year old would recognize that the new name (1) does not reveal the very topic it covers, an egregious flaw that will create confusion with any other agreement the USA might form with Mexico and Canada, (2) that there are other "United States" in the world, and (3) normal diplomacy would require alphabetical order.

Okay, he did it himself.

The Trump administration is now denying visas to the same-sex partners of diplomats, unless they are married
