Another crying fash, you love to see it:

Quote:
Paul Nicholas Miller, a 30-year-old white supremacist, was sentenced to 41 months in prison for multiple firearms offenses this week. According to reports, he "sobbed" during his sentencing.

As NBC Miami points out, Miller admitted that he had bought the ammunition "in preparation for a coming civil war," prosecutors said in a news release. "In the months immediately before his arrest, Miller had made hundreds of internet posts publicizing his animosity towards various minority groups and his support for the initiation of a race-based civil war in the United States."

Miller has been tied to more than one extremist group, including the Proud Boys and the "Boogaloo" Movement. He often posted photos of himself dressed as the Joker while calling for a racial civil war to his thousands of followers on TikTok.

The US military need more leaders with his attitude.
Problem is once you get past your first six months in, it becomes actually pretty hard to kick somebody out of the service unless they violate the UCMJ. big time.FOr the first six months, they can give you an ELS for just about any reason they see fit, after that it becomes harder to get rid of somebody.
BTW, the guy who was convicted of murder for running over people during the Charlottesville incident got kicked out of the Army after two months on an ELS.

U.S. judge adding 'terrorism enhancement' to Manitoba neo-Nazi's prison term
Disgraced Canadian Forces reservist who fled across border, plotted white-supremacist violence faces up to 25 years in Thursday sentencing

Terrorism sentencing enhancements will be applied in the case of Patrik Mathews — a neo-Nazi and disgraced Canadian reservist — and his co-conspirator, Brian Lemley Jr., a federal judge ruled in a Maryland courtroom Monday.

The ruling means Mathews and Lemley, who plotted to murder federal law-enforcement and other civic figures during a charged pro-gun rights rally in Richmond, Va., in January 2020, will likely spend years, not months, in U.S. federal prison.

...

After illegally crossing into the U.S., Mathews was provided safe harbour by Lemley and other neo-Nazi comrades. The two men amassed weapons and supplies while hatching various plots for white-supremacist violence.

O'Toole's campaign chair Walied Soliman wins $500K defamation award against 'alt-right' commentator

https://nationalpost.com/news/politi...ht-commentator

Quote:
Perell (the Judge) found that Bordman “made false statements of fact and not comments or opinions, and, thus, the defence of fair comment is not available to him.” He also rejected the defence of responsible communication, as Bordman took no reasonable steps “to ensure the overall accuracy of the factual assertions.”
$500K!!!! (Even though it is Canadian.)

You left out the best part!

Quote:
Along with awarding the financial penalty, Perell permanently banned Bordman from making any public comment about Soliman going forward, unless it’s an apology with wording approved by Soliman.

The unusual order was necessary, Perell wrote, because “Mr. Bordman does not have the ability to differentiate between non-defamatory statements and defamatory ones.”

“Insofar as Mr. Soliman is concerned, Mr. Bordman before and during the litigation has demonstrated that he is not a responsible journalist of any type,” Perell wrote, adding that further comment by Bordman about Soliman would likely just lead to more litigation.

The bolded part is essentially Judgese for "This guy is too stupid to know when he's lying."

Anthime Gionet, the white nationalist livestreamer known as "Baked Alaska," says he's about to be hit with "hate crime" charges. Gionet was found guilty on assault charges in an unrelated case last week and is still facing charges for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
https://twitter.com/nickmartin/statu...66169469169669

Gionet is a notorious streamer troll, who's whole grift seems to be cultivating a fan base by live-streaming himself being a public menace. He was recently convicted for pepperspraying a bouncer after being ejected from a bar, is facing charges for live streaming himself committing crimes in the Jan6 riot, and now claims to be facing a hate crime charge for vandalizing a Hannukah sign.

He's also known for getting into livestreamed fights and arguments with store clerks who enforce mask policies and other such petty conflicts. He's something of a pioneer in the cottage industry of people making money livestreaming themselves committing unprovoked petty crimes and assaults in public.

It's impossible to briefly summarize how totally bonkers the Sines v Kessler trial is. It's a huge mess of nazi interpersonal drama, backstabbing, and pro-se self-owns.

Here's a tidbit to give you an idea how terribly this is going for the Unite the Right Nazis:

Quote:
christopher cantwell is up now to cross examine co-defendant richard spencer. both men are acting as their own counsel.
https://twitter.com/socialistdogmom/...61168776437764

and:

Quote:
evidence like this text between cantwell & spencer -
august 7, 2017
cantewell: "i'm willing to risk a lot for our cause, including violence and incarceration, but i want to coordinate to make sure it's worth it for our cause."
spencer: "it's worth it, at least for me."
Other highlights includes a deposition from one the fascist's former girlfriend (who has since left the movement) about how Spencer was routinely ******* all his friend's girlfriends, how one leader planned to raise an army for Spencer then kill and usurp him as head of the fascist movement, and Cantwell asking jurors if they are open minded enough to have read Mein Kampf.

Cantwell is getting a bit of vacation time away from serving a prison sentence for threatening to rape a fellow fascist's wife.

Molly Conger is live-tweeting the case every day:

Right-wing “vigilante justice” is under fire in two high-profile murder trials. Meanwhile, teenager Kyle Rittenhouse is on trial for murdering two BLM protesters in Wisconsin, and many have been quick to sympathize with him.

What a ******* joke. Rittenhouse wasn’t a vigilante. He defended himself against unprovoked attack.

And the prosecution in his case just had a very, very bad day.

Unprovoked attacks?! Yes, I guess they shouldn't have broken into his house, threatening to rape him and his mother, thus forcing him to use his legally purchased assault rifle to defend himself against the intruders.

Verdict in the civil case against the organizers of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville.

The jury has found that they all participated in a conspiracy that resulted in injury and are liable for damages and punitive charges.

Quote:
A federal jury in Virginia found every defendant, including noted white supremacists Richard Spencer, Jason Kessler and Christopher Cantwell, was liable for civil conspiracy for the rally, the Washington Post reports.

The jury awarded $500,000 in punitive damages against all individual defendants, and $1 million against five white nationalist organizations, according to the Post.

The jury said it could not reach a verdict on two federal conspiracy charges.

When the defendants said that they were just joking, "... the jury said, no! All of those jokes about killing people, about the holocaust, that constituted plans to do violence in Charlottesville," so I guess the joke was on them now. It will be interesting to see how they'll try to 'stick it to the libs' from now on:

Lots of coverage list that big 26 million number, but the lion's share of that award comes from Fields, who will never pay as he's spending the rest of his life in prison.

Still, the damages against the rest of the organizers who did not face criminal charges are quite substantial.

Maybe they can fundraise it, though many of these people are not particularly large figures in the fascist right anymore. Cantwell is famously hated, and is currently in prison related to threats he made against other fascists during a squabble. Spencer hasn't seemed to be a high profile individual for some time now. Likewise for Kessler. Their time in the sun was rather brief and fascists are always stabbing eachother in the back trying to climb to the top. Fascists hate losers, and these guys keep taking very public and embarrassing L's.

Refusing to pay is certainly an option, but I imagine these plaintiffs are especially motivated to make that very painful. If these fash have any assets, they can probably expect a diligent team of lawyers to work hard to find them and get garnishment orders for years to come. The whole point of the lawsuit was to make these people suffer, so hounding them for years like debt collectors from hell seems like an acceptable outcome.

My understanding is that punitive damages cannot be discharged in bankruptcy like other debts.

I think part of the point here was to put a crimp on their style, to make them, and other white supremacist organisations to think very carefully before trying to organize anything like the Unite the Right rally in the future.

"Woke" is a pejorative term used by racists, bigots and homophobes to describe people who have a properly functioning moral compass!
