Speaking purely politically I can't imagine the side that lost the last election going into the next election with the mentality that they have to "punish" the people who didn't vote for them being anything short of surefire political suicide.

I'm a little confused. perhaps it's only my own intellectual deficiency, but are you saying that blue collar Trump voters are less intelligent than white collar Trump voters? Or that Trump voters are less intelligent than Clinton voters? Or that Trump voters have stunted intelligence?

Sometimes I myself have felt that Trump voters were stupid. But then I back away from my reactivity and refuse to paint everyone the same prejudicial color.

I liked Beerina's cartoon, because it called out a certain dismissal of the plight and feelings of a very large number of working Americans.

I am going to go on record right here that I'm not going to be so condescending as to even "forgive" Trump voters. I respect each individual.

True there are some who aren't very bright, but I've decided not to hold my nose in the air based on my dubious intellectual superiority.

Trump white collar voters are probably smarter than Trump blue collar voters. Money is an important resource in raising your intellectual capital.

A whole bunch of Dems votes for Bernie the Socialist. Socialism is a necessary step to get to the promised land of Communism, according to Dem hero Marx. They can't be forgiven for being so stupid.

This is just simplistic, intellectually weak thinking. Prove Dems want to make the US communist or regard Marx as a hero.

Nothing to forgive. Amercia made its choice. Trump won. Get over it.

It about time for all you sniveling little whiners to just accept defeat gracefully, and let's all get on with our business, and let the goverment do its job, as well.

I've been alive for a long time, and been through a lot of elections, but never in my life have I seen a bigger bunch of cry babies. The 'entitled' generations need to grow up. Or, the alternative, face the full power of our justice system. You damage a statue, you go to jail and pay heavy fines. You caused physical violence at a rally, you go to jail. You threaten violence to stop a speaker at a University, you go to jail, even if they have have to call out the National Guard. If you're an illegal alien, you either get legal, or leave. It's that simple. Your offended by slavery, and anyone previously associated with it? ...tough... Get over it. Slavery ended in the US over 170 years ago, and no living person has any real knowledge of slavery. All you know is what you are told, and that is with a politcal agenda. Nor do your parents, their parents parents, and most likely, even their parents, parents, parents. After that, maybe some ancestor might have some direct knowlege, but it is irrelevant nowadays. In fact, when my generation is gone (and it won't be all that long....), there will be no living memory even of officially-sanctioned discrimination. So you whiners need to knock off all this foolishness and go about your business. If you don't like something, then work to fix it the right way, through peaceful political actiivism, and positive public activities. I'll bet a large number of all these protestors never even voted, ot has a job. Get with the program. We're all Americans. Start acting like it. You don't like Pres Trump, then vote against him next election. Until then, he is our President, and you need to support him, and the country. You diss Pres. Trump, you diss the USA, a country I have served as a Marine for, and even took a bullet for ( a land mine, actually...). Like Merle Haggard said, "Your walkin on the fightin side of me...:

Oooh Rah! Semper Fi!

Nothing you said describes this conversation at all. Nothing about this is ungraceful. Assigning an appropriate level of blame is part of leadership.

Nonsense. Yes, voting against him is likely the only recourse we have. However, that does not mean we should support him. He is an asshat, a jerk, probably a criminal, and an embarrassment. Trump is not the USA, nor does he represent what the USA stands for. You don't like it, tough ****. Just because you were a Marine doesn't mean you are correct. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, but your post was stupid.

Threatening violence because people have expressed opinions at odds with yours? With you frothing like this, one wonders what you would have posted if Trump's detractors had posted such threatening drivel.

Most people I meet here in Australia think Trump is a complete twat and he makes the USA look like a laughing stock. The only good thing is he gets just 4 years so then you guys can get back on track and vote in someone who at least isn't a complete moronic dick.

The problem isn't just about what he manages to do, or not do, it is about how he represents himself on the world stage - which is not very well at all when you compare him with the likes of Emmanuel Macron, Justin Trudeau, Angela Merkel who are intelligent and true statesman who have a good measure of statecraft, can put together coherent ideas and have a level of sophistication that makes Trump look like a C grade school boy.

This right wing, anti-intellectual, christian, anti science agenda is what ISIS is all about and will spell the beginning of a (long) decline of the USA imho. Now before you start yelling "make America Great Again" (which so far appears to be an oxymoron) or telling me you don't care what we all think (the rest of the western world), we all mostly love America (though I wouldn't want to live there because of your ***** healthcare and a weird obsession with violence and guns), we just want you guys to live up to your mantra and help spread (or at least keep) freedom and democracy throughout the world.

Maybe this is the issue having an elected a president? not sure, but from outside looking in you guys seriously screwed up with Trump and conducting a postmortem to figure out how it happened I would think would be a good idea. Not sure placing blame is the way to go since the people who still think he's a good thing are never going to change their mind until his changes have direct consequences for them, but to be sure his presidency so far has been a complete shambles of his own making for most of the time

Oooh Rah! Semper Fi!

Handling the Canadian cold is what separates boys from men. If you haven't lived through -45C, you haven't lived at all.

Some popular votes in some states. And she lost popular votes in key states that she needed to win. Overall, her party also lost a lot popular votes for both houses of the legislature.

I didn't want to confuse any of you.

It was -60C with the wind that day (way back in 1996).

"They've gotta stop reporting wind chill. That's nonsense. 'Well, it's 27 degrees today, but with the wind chill, it's minus 3.' (Beat) Well, then it's minus 3, a-hole! I don't need to know what the weather was like if the conditions were perfect!" - Lewis Black

I love that guy.

Anyway, my quip about confusing people is that apparently in Japan they don't use wind chill and humidity to adjust temperature, so my wife was quite happy to find that we have those features on Canadian weather sites. So I didn't know where else they used them.
