The more the swamp and the establishment fight dirty the more Trump is revered by Americans. 1000s more MAGA flags went up today This election is much more than a decision between @JoeBiden & @realDonaldTrump. This election determines whether America will continue to serve as a beacon of freedom around the world or fall for the empty promises of socialism. It’s #AmericaVsSocialism. @PamBondi is disgusted by the socialist, big city mayors refusing to allow @realDonaldTrump to help protect American citizens as rioters run roughshod over their cities. W. Bush spent Thanksgiving in Iraq in 1990. His son President George W. Bush spent Thanksgiving in Iraq in 2003.) Melania Trump Became the First First Lady to Spend Christmastime Visiting US Troops in a War Zone. (Thanksgiving, too.) Trump Is First President Since George W. Bush to Spend Thanksgiving with the Troops in a Foreign Country. Trump Is the Only US President to Visit the Troops in a Combat Zone So Close to Christmas Day. President Trump Is the Only US President in History to Visit US Troops Both in a Combat Zone on Thanksgiving and So Close to Christmas. In fairness, did you know the following that nobody reported? Trump Is One of Only Three US Presidents to Spend Thanksgiving Day with US Troops in a Combat Zone. (The other 2 were President George H. W. Bush & President George W. Bush.) He is the only president to be the subject of false news stories by by NBC and Newsweek that each claimed he was golfing or otherwise ignoring the troops on different holidays when he was actually flying to spend the holiday with the troops in a combat zone. He is also under attack by pharmaceutical industry for his landmark executive order that says US pharma companies have to give Americans the same price for prescription medicine that they give foreigners. Right now, I many cases, we pay exponentially more in US. Trump's actions and talk of ending Afghan war and drawing down troops in Germany have not made him popular among the powerful networks of defense/intel contractors & military officials who support the system that makes billions of $$ off of the status quo. Of course Trump said that.
And of course he didn't really mean it, because he just doesn't care at all. Trump just can't stand praising anyone or have anyone praised in his presence: for him, respect is a zero-sum game, and because he can't earn any for himself, he has to tear everyone else down below his level to feel taller. |

"[Vietnam] was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker." -- Donald J. Trump
I'm inclined to agree, but a lot of men were drafted. Otherwise, shouldn't Trump-supporters find this this refreshingly anti-PC? Of course, Trump comes at it from the perspective of pure self-interest, so the people who died are not only suckers but "losers." The killing anyone signed up for is moot. |

Of course the story is plausible. And IMO that's a problem for Trump. I think anyone who knows him can well imagine that he said such things. One thing I do wonder, why is the story coming out now? These events took place months or years ago.

Looking into this, there doesn't seem to be any evidence of the Atlantic "suckers and losers" alleged quote.
Nobody has said they were there to hear it, and it wasn't written by anyone. I'm disappointed by The Atlantic. |

So many responses.
A. And then the whole bus cheered.1 B. And then the woman sailor said, “please stop touching me, you creepy creep.” C. And then the sailor’s arms grew back, because, you know, God sent Donald Trump to do His work here in America. D. And a photographer began focusing his camera, but President Donald J Trump said in a clear, strong voice, “Stop. Your presence cheapens this moment. Leave.” E. And then Donald Trump asked the soldier. “Are you thirsty? Because I can hold up a glass of water for you. Hold it up in one hand? F. And then the airman said, “America wants your face on Mt. Rushmore, Mr. President, sir. And we don’t mind at all that the rain prevented you from visiting that cemetery and besides all those Europeans are freeloaders anyway.” ........ (1) the kids use this phrase to say “there’s a lot of fakiness in that fake story.” |

Whether true or not, it fits the pattern of pervious behaviour.
But for supporters, if uncorroborated, it may not be enough to change their mind. For those against him, it doesn't change much either. I would have thought though, with regard to the cemetery, if a US president wanted to visit war graves, heaven and earth would have been moved to make it happen. |

IIRC the story at the time was that Trump had had a flaming row with President Macron, and didn't go to the cemetery because he was sulking in his room.
I have to say both explanations seem equally plausible to me. |

I don't think you understand the concept of "evidence".
A reporter from a reputable news source (which would include a magazine like the Atlantic) getting similar stories from individuals who would be privy to events is evidence. Perhaps not as strong as audio/video evidence, but it is still evidence none the less. And Trump's past history (I like soldiers that weren't captured) lends credibility to those accounts. 40% of the voters in your country will indicate approval or acceptance of this by voting for him in November. Those voters will include a not insignificant number of visible minorities. Trump is not the big problem in your country. The big issue is the combination of systemic racism and ignorance inherent in so many of your citizens. If Trump loses the election that will not change at all. I have said previously that there is so much hate among Americans. That will not be changed in the foreseeable future regardless of which politicians are elected. It may become less visible but it will still be there. What America needs to do is take on a long term commitment to reduce the hatred.

I'm skeptical of HR training in general, as it's often designed to shield the company from liability more than anything else.
Having said that, the guy who plainly thinks that only white people can be truly American (as shown in, among other issues, his birtherism, his statement that US-born women of color should "go back to whatever country they came from", and his statement that Benjamin Netanyahu is the Prime Minister of US jewish people) mark him as an obvious bigot. Or to make it simple: I don't know if this training does anything useful, but I know that's not why Dolt 45 is targeting it. |
