Welcome back. What was your previous name?(e.g. Would any of us recognize you?) If you had to register under a new name maybe make a post to one of the mods advising them of the details so you don't get mistaken for a sockpuppet of your former self.

I think it was the same name as now. I made 200-350 posts. I mostly read. I think I was most active around The Amazing Meeting 3.

Talking Hello

I like moonlit walks on the beach (Yes the moon humans have been to), books not written by Ayn Rand and history (the history where JFK was killed by a single person and Nazi's didn't build a secret base on the aforementioned moon.)

My turn-offs include: people who use the word "toxin" as defined by the quackery and alt-medicine community, Chemophobia and "woo" of any sort.

I occasionally struggle with myself for wishing there actually was a Hell for people who believe in Creationism of any sort.

Also F* the Oxford Comma.

Hey, welcome aboard. We don't have a whole lot of regular woo believers showing up, so I've taken my "foodie" debunking over to Quora. You have to be much more polite but it's such a ripe environment. I started out just commenting on coffee culture but in any thread about coffee or tea you'll always get the Green Tea and Miracle of Green Coffee Extract crowd peddling their petunias. My favorite red flags:

Toxins and Anti-Toxins
Anti-Oxidants
Superfoods

Any one of them is liable to set me off, but you have to be careful because their Be Nice/Be Polite rule is much more stringent than we have here. Plus, answerers can simply block you from commenting on their lies. I usually respond directly to one of the woo peddlers but then put in a full answer of my own to avoid directly addressing and/or insulting a member.

Welcome aboard. We still have the occasional old school skeptical debunking thread in General Skepticism and the Paranormal, but nothing like our heyday when James Randi's name attracted the rhetorical gunslingers.

Cool Hi :)

My name's Aadil, I'm 14 years old and I live in a country where we keep all of our doors open! I am centre-left wing so I have moderate opions about most issues

I like politics and debating and love to prove people wrong!

Doesn't that get a bit cold in the winter?

I thought you would guess the country. That’s just a stereotype/joke about Canada! The last one is true but I don’t do it online I do it in real life

Welcome back, and I just noticed for the first time that your avatar foot taps, which reminds me to wonder what ever became of Paul Hoff.

Hello all. I am wondering why I don't have access to the "members only" parts of the forum. My User CP tells me I have been a member since 2002. And now I feel damn old.

Any ideas?

Double secret probation?

PM Darat. It's probably just a database glitch, and he can get it sorted out.

Hi Catherine!

If we have any dead, we'll try and bring them out.

Those of us that do bite can only bite virtually and I think you need a special Oculus "chaw" adapter for that. They were working on it for the zombie games and the baseball games, depending on which side of the "chaw" you were on.

Welcome everyone

Hi,
I joined a few months ago, but didn't introduce myself.
I'm a 19-year-old med student, trying to think rationally while surrounded by lots of supersticious people. Dealing with OCD and fear of hell. Still not sure what path to follow.

Welcome. You'll find we have a lot of people here with OCD, ASD (hi!) and other conditions and a pretty supportive gang.
