Cool Let's Help Save NFT Technology, Together!

As we enter the second quarter of 2022, it seems the value and popularity of NFTs is starting to slump. Stored as virtual "deeds" to digital properties, on a distributed blockchain ledger, these types of tokens have been heralded as a godsend, by the likes of Mark Cuban, Steve Harvey, EA's CEO Andrew Wilson, and even voice actor Troy Baker! In order to help bolster this seemingly important technology, and save our precious metaverse from devastation, I am introducing a BRAND NEW INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY for all of my friends and followers; or for anyone who wishes to redefine "ownership" as something that could actually transcend that of actual, physical ownership! And to redefine "art" as something even more programmatic and procedurally procured than ever before!

I am calling it the Meta-Social License NFT! These brand new MSL-NFTs are a type of digital document that grants you certain rights, to improve your stature on social media sites, in the form of virtual license papers. These rights can include:

* The ability to make a controversial political opinion and/or factually inaccurate statement, without getting hampered by negative comments, for a certain number of posts.

* Robotically acquire a bunch of reactions of your choice, such as Likes, to a post no one seems to be otherwise responding to.

* Buying the permitted use of a cheat code, or acquisition of an extra loot box, on multiplayer games.

* And More!

Plus, these rights are designed to be transferable to any and all social media and gaming platforms! Or, at least the ones willing to develop and enable the appropriate, compatible cross-site APIs to do so!! And, it is aimed to work within all Virtual Reality interfaces, as well. This technology is currently considered to be perfectly legal, in some certain parts of the world, where all of the actual back-end processing takes place!

Confused about what all of this actually means, and how it is all supposed to work?! Well, that's no problem: Once you buy into it, this entire venture should sort itself out, for you, automatically. You can trust me on this, because of the unique nature of this unprecedented, groundbreaking revolution in speculative markets! And, it has lots of data science behind it, as well!

Buy now, and then sell them off to others, who might believe these things actually have value, and you could potentially make tons of money! If and when this special promotion kicks off, we can begin minting soon! Don't wait for it to be too late! Get in on the ground floor! Ask me how to reserve your first MSL-NFTs *TODAY ONLY*!

It's too bad you did that so soon. You could have made a LOT MORE MONEY if you had sold it along with some Moderator rights to actually do with it as the buyer pleases!

So did I, as it happens, but I sold it to myself, and now it's worth twice as much as yours.

This has been an
APRIL FOOLS
gag thread. Thank you all for your enthusiastic participation. All of you. Don't go slapping your foreheads all at once now, okay?

I went lighthearted this year, since it's been a tough year for many. Perhaps next year I will actually put some effort into trying to fool people, for a bit.

Here is my traditional running list of previous April 1st threads:
I like to keep a running list of these threads of mine, so I can find them all more easily.

The April Fools joke must've been that the thread was an April Fools joke, because I think this is a fantastic investment opportunity.

I only have one suggestion - instead of "smart contracts", we should make them "Bright contracts". I'll get started on the whitepaper right away.

Finally time to shake off the shackles of our mods and instead manage posts based on the DAO. Whatever troll owns the most ISFCoin gets to decide what is allowed to stay up on the boards.

Can't you "save" an NFT by like... taking a screenshot of it.

He didn't lose them, but I've just bought the NFT's. As expected, they were surprisingly inexpensive!

And, I promise they WILL work, just as soon as all the major social media companies install the necessary APIs onto their systems!

If you look at the smart contract is for URL to the original document. You don't get exclusive use or ownership of it. You just buy the right to say the artist sold the link to you.

Quote:
An NFT of Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s first tweet, purchased last year by an Iranian crypto investor for $US2.9 million, was put up for auction in April, with bids topping out at $US280. A token of a pixelated man with sunglasses and hat that sold for roughly $US1 million seven months ago brought just $US138,000 on May 8. A digital token of an ape with a red hat, sleeveless T-shirt and multicolored grin - part of the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club - purchased for over $US520,000 on April 30, was sold for roughly half that price 10 days later.

Over the past three years, NFTs have generated significant excitement because proponents say they solve tricky problems. Digital images, once viewed as worthless because they could be easily copied, could now be owned and assigned monetary value. Collectible art, long seen as exclusive to high society, could now exist on decentralised, community-run networks, making them more appealing to a new generation.

Not even that. Anyone can say the artist sold the link to them. You paid for the output of some bit of mathematical calculations done by a CPU, or GPU, that you can claim as yours. And what that means to a 3rd party is entirely up for them to decide. I suppose they're using something like digital certificates so you can prove that its indeed you that bought the NFT?

When I see NFT I think of Near Field Tech, the tech enabling NFC, Near Field Communication.

But that's just me.

My brain goes straight to the National Film Theatre, but then I did a stupid media degree, like the fool that I am.

Not that I'm claiming to be like The Fool, that would be overly presumptuous on my part.
