The black-browed babbler was recently sighted in Indonesia’s South Kalimantan province, on the island of Borneo, after being lost to science for 172 years.

Also, it's not like the bird wasn't 'Seen' in 172 years, it just wasn't seen by someone looking for it for science.

Bigfoot is 7' tall, 400+ pounds, and doesn't fly.
It does inhabit trees however.

Which brings to mind:

The NAWAC had several sightings of Wood Apes in trees, and could not do anything to bag a specimen. When we would tree an animal, it means the hunt is over. That is the whole point of driving a bear or a raccoon into a tree. They aren't nimble enough to hop to the next tree. Bigfoot? Yes, it can defy gravity, leaping from tree to tree down the might Columbia river, it's best buddy by it's side...

It can't compare, the bird is a known animal, thought extinct, then rediscovered. Not spoken of in legend and lore then found.

Are you forgetting Bigfoot can use his momentum to snap the trunk of a tree and jump to safety? There are pictures of the tree and measurements of the trunk to prove it.
