Well, it looks like there were those in Russia willing to protest.

That's because he's a devoutly religious man of the people who himself is still poor after working so tirelessly at small salary for the good of the Russian people.
We should all take a leaf out of Vlad's book. Unlike other leaders, he has not used his position to enrich himself, or have multi-billion-dollar properties, guarded by the FSB, at his disposal. |

Murderous, kleptocratic, vicious dictator Vlad might well be, but you can not deny his sense of humour: https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/europe...t-all-conflict

Quite interesting what Putin had to say to zee liederz ov zee World Economic Forum including the infamous Klaus "Great Reset" Schwab who does the introduction:
It takes a special kind of brain-deadness to hate on this guy from an Anglo country with the scum that "leads" them on the surface (pay no attention to the monarchy). |

Putin talks about the need for solutions to the increasing disparity between rich and poor; between rich countries and poor countries.
He's talking about the need for fiscal stimuli, and he says his priorities are the priorities of Russia: 1. The right for everyone to have a home and infrastructure. 2. Confidence in having a steadily increasing income to develop career, get pension. 3. Health care for all. 4. Regardless of income, decent education for children. Propaganda? He says there were never any attempts to start a NWO, hahaha, that was rather cool for debunkers. He says the reality is that there are true differences in the world - political models, cultural - so we must use new forms of interaction to coordinate to work together on these priorities. This is already being done in the production and rollout of the COVID vaccines, and shows in giving the vaccines to developing countries because they have higher health risks. In talking about future international relations, he said "we should get rid of our past phobias". That was pretty interesting, CE. |

Certainly is.
The irony is him talking about international conflicts as he sits there creating them, or maybe everyone's forgotten Crimea & Ukraine already. I've said time after time, Putin is everything Trump isn't - smart, cunning as a dunny rat, successful, and genuinely a very tough person, while the orange man is thick, soft and a coward. I respect Vlad's ability while despising him for his actions, because Russia deserves batter after having had a total of one benevolent leader in all history, as far as I can tell. |

Meanwhile, the idea that Navalny isn't Putin's biggest threat has been well and truly destroyed by the unbelievable courage and determination of his supporters.
With an almost-guaranteed chance of arrest, a high likelihood of being the victim of institutional violence, thousands more people have been arrested for showing solidarity with Navalny. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/...s-up-crackdown |

![]() Again, "arrested" in Al Jazeera talk means having their identity taken and that was it. For the main cause of playing martyr for some clown on the other end of the planet. The people '"arrested" in Vienna today in protests you would never hear about without listening to yours truly face far more dire consequences, and are greater in numbers. |

I don't disagree with the thought that Nawalny is Putin's biggest threat, btw. Which is a good thing given that Nawalny is known by more New Zealanders than Moscowers (with the latter being triple the numbers of the first).

"Blind praise of Putin" is only in your head. From time to time I like to rub original words of the man under the noses of people who have a comic book understanding of Russia and her leader. If only for the opportunity that some less-brainwashed people find something interesting in it. |

The thing that worries me is what will happen post-Putin.
I see a lot of parallels with Augustus. Lip-service to the elected officials while ensuring that those officials are either loyal or token critics, brutal and efficient silencing of any actual critics. But for the average Russian that is not part of the designated hate groups (Jehova's, Gays, anyone openly critical of the regime) life is probably good. Bread and circuses do work. And while I consider him a autocratic dictator there is no denying he's an effective dictator. In any other time period he would probably get 'The Great' as an epitaph. However, at some point he'll grow old and either get senile or die. And by that time any democratic process that was present in Russia will be gone, in the same way it had vanished by the time Augustus died. So the thing will be, who will succeed him. A Tiberius? A Caligula? |

btw, Nawalny's "Putin's Palace" video has utterly backfired. Not only has German local media reported that it was produced by "Blackforest Studios" on behalf of Hollywood while Nawalny was staying here on my taxes, Russian bloggers and then Russian mainstream TV have been reporting from the p(a)lace, which has been in the "News" for around ten years and is still very much under construction. It is literally as bad as that they "deep faked" a double-headed eagle onto the entrance that is the version Montenegro, not Russia, uses, that they translated words obviously scripted in English like "Mudroom" literally as "room for mud" into Russian and had the clown Nawalny say it in the video, and that 3D Models for the automatons in "Putin's" alleged gambling room can be downloaded on the net for $14. A German translation of a Russian TV Report is likely the best information available in the Anglosphere about this embarrassing stunt.

Of course you know nobody who is in a position to be the successor of Putin because you know nothing about Russia you haven't heard from sources that have beef in the game. My money is on this guy, and you will never have heard of him and have a hard time even figuring out who he is (prove me wrong): ![]() |

Here's one where Vlad definitely will...
...take the credit. And rightly so - not much point hacking the west's data then not using it. The Sputnik vaccine is as good as any available, and better than most because it doesn't require ultra-cold storage: https://www.bbc.com/news/health-55900622 |

Reminds me of the days union staff used to buy Ladas to show their support of the great communist leadership of USSR.
FTFY. I'm pretty sure CE is in Germany, and I think that qualifies as "West". And I'm also pretty sure that Angela Merkel isn't Vlad's type. |

Buddy, you're literally on the other side of the planet from me. Which has no other side. It's a globe. There is no "West" other than in your head. And Angela Merkel has studied in Moscow which was a thing only regime followers of the DDR were able to do at the time. She and Putin can and do converse fluently in both German and Russian. |
