Pelosi re-elected to Dem leadership

Really? It's worked out so well for the Dems since she's been in the leadership. I'm a Dem and this is part of the problem with the party. It takes forever to get new blood. The Repubs change leadership like it's the Reign of Terror and they're winning.

Part of the problem is the Dems are fairly divided internally. The GOP does a good job of cracking the whip and getting folks in line. The Dems, because they try to appeal to disenfranchised groups who are trying to get their fair shot, can be like hearding cats. What that does is let entrenched leadership stay there since new opposition can never get its act together.

Part of what got her re-elected is that she made a promise to get new blood into leadership positions.

^Which would be laughably ironic if we weren't in such dire straits.

Right, of course. This explains why Hillary was able to enlist a majority of party delegates before the primaries even kicked off. And it explains why the Republicans fielded a clown car of candidates and lost to an outsider.

/sarcasm

Donal, what would you say are the internal factions making up the divisions within the Democrat party, and how did they contribute to Hillary's loss?
