This from "Broadening our Understanding of Anti-Authority Movements in Canada." August 2017. by Barbara Perry, David C. Hofmann and Ryan Scrivens.

https://www.researchgate.net/profile...-in-Canada.pdf

Quote:
Despite obvious similarities between Canadian Sovereign Citizens and FOTL, there is a sharp contrast between the core beliefs and methods between both movements, although not as pronounced as their American counterparts. Netolitsky (2016a) implies that one distinction may be along the left-right political spectrum. He characterizes FOTL as leftist, often engaging in environmental, anti-globalization, and pro-marijuana activism (p. 624). Sovereign Citizens, on the other hand, are more ideologically associated with their similarly named American counterparts (Meads v. Meads, 2012), who embrace right-wing values surrounding issues such as gun ownership, identity politics, antisemitism, and more recently, anti-Muslim worldview. . .

I contend that the line between the two ideologies has become more blurred since the August 2017 publication of the above work. I believe that in an attempt to regain relevance many freemen including their guru, Robert Menard, have courted sovereign citizens and associated alt.right groups by aping their antisemitism, and anti-Muslim worldview.

If you head over to Bobby Menard's Facebook page you can see a few of his followers using the comments section as a forum to excuse the rude, hateful behavior of the Covington Catholic kids and sling some hate speech at native Americans.

Isn't funny how what's left of the freemen brain trust tells us bigotry and hate is really just free speech, but when anybody calls them out for their hate filled utterances that magically becomes slander.

Quebec's women teachers:more balls than Menard

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/cana...ebecs-bill-21/

Quote:
Three female teachers including two Muslims and one Roman Catholic have launched another lawsuit against Quebec’s restrictions on religious symbols in some public service jobs, saying the province can’t use the notwithstanding clause to shield the law from its own incoherence.
So where are Canada's brave freemen? What are they doing while the religious liberties of Muslim women are being trampled?

Could it be they are following the lead of Canada's leading freeman, Robert "Nazi Bob" Menard, who thinks the banning of the head coverings of Islamic women is necessary to preserve "Canadian culture"?

Bobby's all confused 'bout masks. . .

As you may recall some time ago the once well know freeman, Bobby Menard, and a few of his remaining minions were all good with Quebec's government telling Muslim women they couldn't cover their faces.

Anyone channeling Rosa Parks yet?

Yet the freeman crowd seems confused about the freedoms they have yammered about for years.

. . . The freeman crowd can’t stop whining that the law should be applied to police officers wearing masks.

Robert Menard: But not enough to allow others to fight against it in an equal manner.

Robert Menard: . . .these masks are religious garb that provide no tactical benefits or increased safety. Their sole purpose is to hide the identity of the 'priests'. . . .I am personally far more concerned about [the law’s] armed and dangerous enforcers than I am a humus loving niqāb wearer.

Pawel Fryga: **** everybody's religion. Braindead.

Chris Carter: first of all **** islam. it's a piece of **** doctrine, intentions, claims and practices wise. wearing niqab isn't an indication of a free society. unintended consequences=wanna bet that many many hundreds of non-muslim females and perhaps even males r gunna flood into Quebec, wear niqab and force the police and courts to put up or shut up.

So where were freemen and the freeman brain trust when this law was proposed years ago?

Do freemen have any idea that their decades long trashing of constitutional law as fantasy negates their calls that Muslim women to be protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights?

Why is Menard allowing his Facebook page to be used as a forum for anti-Muslim hate speech?
It's worth noting that Menard, after supporting a law tramping the freedom to wear a face coverings as part of one's religion, has now joined the anti-mask crowd.

It seems to have escaped Menard's drug and alcohol addled mind he's already ok'ed giving governments the authority to tell people what they are to do regarding face coverings.
