Probably the usual official ceremonies with a lot more VIP's and media coverage because it's an anniversary that ends in a 0. More truther nonsense than last year for the same reason. Probably a bit more emotional overall because of all of the above.
Honestly, I'd probably stay away from most if not all of it if I were in town that day just to give the families some room to grieve. I know that I wouldn't want some random gawkers looking at me if I were in their shoes. Television coverage would be just fine and if I really wanted to pay respects in person there's nothing stopping me from coming by a bit later (or earlier for that matter) to do so. |

Can you please try to get a good shot of the crowd so I can count how many people are there. In the past, they have had a march. If you can get a shot that has them all walking past you at some point, that would be great. Thanks.

I will take pictures and take video on june.2. I will be back in NY in september and will film and take pictures on 911. I will post it in here, probably with many others. I had hoped to meet up with some "debunkers" or skeptics. Do any have meetings in NY? In norway the skeptics often have meetings...

Remember 9/11 CELEBRATE 7/4
While 9/11 is a date we should always remember, let
us concentrate on CELEBRATING 7/4. We (US Citizens) are the children of 7/4 and that is a much more important date to be honoring. I am not a truther, I am a patriot. BTW, I cannot attribute the thought behind this post to the originator of it since I cannot find his name but I will admit it is not my original idea. |

Fireworks and beer.
Actually, the other way around. Which sometimes presents a problem! |

It's a national holiday. Everyone is off work, mostly. (I work but I work in a casino) families go to the park, the pool, the lake, they cook out, have fun celebrating freedom.
After dark, most cities and towns put on a fireworks display, losts of folks buy them and set them off themselves. It can be dangerous but mostly it's just fun. BTW, New York City usually has a massive fireworks show over the water. |

7/4 is the date where most of the truthers got their first hand knowledge of explosives and thermite.
AKA firecrackers and sparklers. |

Giant fireworks show that night. Get a good view of the statue. Try battery park but google it to see where the best spot is. Remember, don't get caught staring up at the buildings. That's a sure way to ID yourself as a tourist/target. Don't fall for the "I forgot my wallet and I need money for the train" scam either. If a stranger starts talking to you for no apparent reason, it's most likely a scam.
I'll always give a guy a buck if he's funny. Like the one who asked me if I'd like to contribute to the 'United Negro Pizza Fund'. lol I stay away from the memorials to give the families the room they need (there is a lot of them). I wouldn't mind meeting up with some of the truthers and debunkers for a beer or 15 that night though (unofficial JREF bar crawl??). Could be interesting. It's always nice to meet the faces behind the text whether or not you agree with them. |
