I'm a friggin' tumbling tumbleweed. What the hell am I doing now? Writing screenplays. But I'm a software engineer with my own S/W product and that's what pays the bills.
I'm in the Screen Actors Guild, in AFTRA too. Been on the radio as a DJ. Been on my hands and knees over a 3-week period, scraping rusty sludge out of the bilge pumps of a WW2 ship. Been inside the Great Pyramid in Egypt. Been in Pompeii. Been on the set of 'Friends' in a tuxedo. Been underneath an aircraft carrier, and on top of WTC 2 (in May 2001). Been to Meteor Crater in Arizona, the Garden of Eden in Maui, and the Kirov Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia. And I've had 35 changes of address since I left home at 17. Worked for the world's largest corporation (GM) and the world's smallest (just myself, currently). See what I mean? Tumbleweed city. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. But it's given me a realistic and appreciative perspective on the human experience. And since I'm hardheaded and have had to learn everything by doing - I became a true skeptic, over time, so that I could safely navigate. Wouldn't have it any other way... |

I don't post in the Conspiracies Forum much but I'm an accountant specializing in reinsurance. My reinsurance experience was primarily in Bermuda where many of the catastrophe reinsurers are located (and paid a chunk of the 9/11 claim).
I'm not an American though, but would still appreciate those paid-debunker US Government cheques I keep hearing about. |

Bachelor of Architecture (that's the 5-year degree). I work as an architectural assosciate under a liscensed architect and architectural engineer.
The towers just happened to fall during my 5th year of school; at the time I was taking a couple of structural courses from the engineering school, so we talked about them . . . a bit. |

A troofer I talked to who CLAIMED to be an architect balked when I asked him to provide the calculations that led him to believe the towers could not have collapsed without help from explosives. He said that architects do no engineering, only aesthetic design (Nevertheless, his experience as an architect qualified him to come to such a conclusion...).
I found that a little hard to swallow, and I thought of it again when you mentioned taking structural courses. |

BS in mechanical engineering. I work in HVAC design for an A/E firm. I've worked with many clients, but my main areas of expertise are in health care and telecommunications, but lately I've been working in oil refineries, water treatment and a big honkin' high rise.
I'm also a PE in ME. |

Actually, that's incorrect. Most architecture doesn't involve aesthetic design, but the nuts and bolts of a building. Interior layouts, doors and window framing, casework, wall composition, etc.
I believe that a degree in architecture requires course work going over basic engineering system concepts. From my experience, some architects are much more knowledgable than others....... |

BA in film production and operations, and late UCLA accredited film assistant editor certification.
I've worked in the cutting rooms of everything from major hollywood productions to low budget documentaries. I've freelance news edited for most major news organisations, Al Jazeera, CNN, the BBC, Bloombury and Sky news. I've worked in a news room during a major terrorist attack,(july 7th bombings) so can comment with some authority on how newsrooms work, and how editorial control is exerted. Also I've fenced Sabre and Foil, I've competed aganist both a world and oylmpic champion* *I lost to both in fairly definitive manner** ** By fairly definitive I mean I was massacred. |

Higher Diploma in Electronic Engineering
BS (Hons) in Electrical Engineering Main field of expertise: RF design (mainly for electronic warfare) - I'm your man for tracking those elusive little transmitters, whether they hop or not. Cellphones from planes? No problem. Need something to keep out those alien death rays? Speak to me. ETA: Bah, after seeing Mr. Skinny's post which has oneupmanship written all over it, I'll add the following: Have done numerous courses in first aid, emergency drills, fire control, yadayadayada... Halfway through degree in Astronomy, for fun and Physics. Closet pyromaniac and avid thermite manufacturer. All around good guy who you would want to take home to your mother. |

In my previous field, I've personally dealt with architects with excellent structural knowledge and some who are utterly clueless. Many know the basics, but leave the structural elements to the engineers.
On most residential work, i would get a set of plans from an architect only. Most of the structural elements were 'rule-of-thumb' only (architects would consult a span-chart for the depth/spacing of floor joists, etc) but were more than adequate for small residential construction. However, it was not uncommon to recieve a set of Architectural plans for a residential building that simply did "not work". I've called architects in the past to ask them how they plan to hold up a specific load (that they don't show a support for) only to be told that it was up to me to 'make it work'. On commercial work, I would usually have two sets of plans* - an architectural and a structural. The architectural deals with the stuff Crungy mentioned above (layout, interior materials, windows, overhang details, roof pitch, etc). the structural deals with all of the structural elements (beam and column sizes, trusses, structural connections, loading, etc). Designing structural elements required a combination of plans (for example, you may need to size a column large enough to pick up the load shown in the structurals, but narrow enough to fit into the wall size specified in the architecturals.) It was also very common to find inconsistancies between the structurals and architecturals, but I digress. *(There were obviously other plans such as site plans, electricals and mechanicals, but I am simply mentioning the plans that describe the construction of the building) |

I'm still trying to find a use here for the few things I'm good at or knowledgeable about:
Throwing things really far Walking really far Skating fast Sleeping in a tent Protocol for meeting the Rockettes (same as for meeting the Queen of England, with the addition of "no grab-ass.") American poetry Unlike the people here who are experts with things that stick and cut, I do my damage through blunt-force trauma. I once punched a guy in the mouth through the closed window of his car. That was as satisfying as it sounds, and yes, he deserved it. I was reminded of that when, before the Hardfire taping, Ron Wieck was joking with us by doing a Howard Cosell voice: "Down goes Bermas! Down goes Bermas!" |

Computer Engineer (recently graduated). Sure this really has nothing to do with controlled demolition, or anything to do with 9/11, but I have "Engineer" in my title, which more than qualifies me to be an "expert" CTist.
I also work for the NWO (hush, hush), but I still don't understand the large orders for termites. ETA: OH wait, I just read the memo again. Stupid demolitions spelling. |

Holding up the Arts end of JREF, I have a BA in Bible (Church of Christ) with two years of graduate work in Christian Theology. After that kind of training, I've made quite a nice life for myself in theater, although I am now a live television captioner in training.
I am a former woo, in other words. I owe a psychic debt which I shall never be able to repay to Lawrence David Kusche, whose brilliant skewering of the Bermuda Triangle "mystery" established a beachhead of rationality in my thirteen-year-old brain. I've been able to overthrow a lot of nutty beliefs in my life because of that, and I've got a razor-sharp sense of the boundaries of Woo-ville. |

A PhD in software engineering from a long time ago. In the last few years I've been a freelance writer in the UK for various magazines & the odd book project, though none that have had my name on the front cover (I've been a contributor to a couple of versions of this, for instance.)

BA in Traditional Chinese and Politics, which I swiftly changed to just single honours Politics when it dawned on my after 5 months that the only decent chinese speakers are the Chinese. I would have finished my degree as well, but I fell in love and didn't do any work for the last year.
15 years on and I'm with the same gal and doing my final year In the meantime I've worked in a psychiatric hospital for the last 10 years - this is directly relevant to some members of this board, believe you me. I've gone through certain threads* on this board and nineeleven.co.uk with colleagues from work and we've diagnosed a few people. * You know the one. Can I bump it please? |

Much like Huntsman, I am a former combat engineer. (Regular army).
Also a former infantry officer. (National Guard.) I have an associate’s degree in electronics that has not been used much. A BSET in engineering technology. (Sort of like an EE but less math.) Done several different industrial controls jobs related to heat treating metals and steel production. This included working in a hot rolling mill where new slabs of steel were heated to high temperatures to make it easier to roll them into sheet metal. Also did some boiler control work less than a year ago. So I have spent some time blowing up steel, pressing it, and making it harder, softer and other things. This has included electrical and gas heating systems. Also some chemical production and using those chemicals in heat-treat furnaces. I also have made steam and hot air in volumes worthy of a politician. |

Well, I own a Rangers and a Celtic jersey, so I admit I cannot be trusted. God save the Queen so I can kick her in the arse, y'know.

Rugby players are fun to drink with, though. They drink to socialize and to perform self-dentistry. That's as opposed to football (soccer) fans, who socialize to drink. I once partied with 15,000 Rangers fans at the semifinals of the European Cup Championship in Munich. I broke a large table while doing the bouncy dance on it, and later the same table was used to hit me in the head. It was all in good fun, though, and I didn't feel a thing. Until the next day. |
