Comey should be fired because he refused to enforce the law by obstructing the prosecution of Hillary Clinton. He's a Democrat lapdog.

No, I seriously doubt it. He never gave a **** about throwing Hillary in prison. He was conning morons.

I think it is fully possible that the reasons outlined in the memo I posted above are the real reasons. The Deputy AG And AG told Trump he should fire Comey for those reasons and so he did.

It sends a message.

It's a Putin thing: you only have to arrest the occasional rival, the rest will stay in line out of fear.

I think the real reason Donnie wanted to get rid of Comey is twofold. First, in Senate testimony last Thursday Comey said:
Quote:
“It makes me mildly nauseous to think that we might have had some impact on the election,” he told the senators. Link
Donnie probably took that personal.

Second, yesterday former DoJ Acting Attorney General (fired by the Trumpster) spoke to Congress about the Flynn affair.
Quote:
Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates, speaking publicly for the first time about concerns she brought to the Trump White House on Russia, told Congress on Monday she warned that National Security Adviser Michael Flynn “essentially could be blackmailed” because he apparently had lied to his bosses about his contacts with the Russian ambassador. Link
That sounds like it contradicts the Trumpster's original story that, like Sgt. Schultz, "I know nothing!" Donnie probably wants to move the news cycle past Yates' comments. What better way to do it than fire someone like the FBI director?

It's about the timing. Comey did that last year. If the White House thought it was unjust, they would have fired him on Jan 21.

What happened since then to change their mind?

I don't think there is any real reason to believe that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is some partisan hack that would fabricate reasons for firing Comey when really he's trying to protect Trump from the Russia investigation.

I can't figure Comey out either.

And I do hope he retaliates with leaks. And that other retaliatory leaks happen after that, and etc. until we actually know what the hell these people are doing.

Whether democrat or republican, I just don't care. I want rule of law and accountability.

Wait, was it unjust or not?

Did Trump have a recommendation from the AG and DEputy AG before now?

Nice that Donald is looking after his old pal Hillary for a change.

From Brad Heath on 1/12/2017:

Quote:
Among other things, DOJ Inspector General will look at whether Comey's decision to weigh in on Clinton email probe violated DOJ policies.
the wheels turn slowly but grind finely.

Hillary has got to be pleased that her unceasing attacks on Comey have born fruit.

He didn't do that. Instead he fired Comey while explaining it was because of Clinton.

Now all those folks who were screaming bloody murder at Comey this morning are going to be praising him as the next nathan hale.

Hilarious.

Seriously?

Deep breath in: Think back to all the times Trump praised Comey for his scathing report on Clinton.

Deep breath out: You know how close the investigation was getting to the bottom of the Trump/Russia investigation. Sessions is coving for the coverup.

Was there any discussion of prosecuting Clinton recently? Nope. Were there many conversations hinting at getting to closer to the truth on the Trump-Russia connection? Yep.

It's right there in the letter protesting too loudly that Trump was sure he was not under investigation.

Greta VanSustren is giving the devil's advocate POV on MSNBC trying to say reactions to the firing are purely along party lines. Matthews is calling it the Tuesday Night Massacre.

I'm going to label this one, bumbling corruption. I'm going to predict the Republican split widens. Those GOP legislators are already in hot water over the ACA repeal. The rats are going to start jumping off the sinking ship as the outrageous corruption that is Trump just gets too blatant for most people.
