SNL Sketch: Kanye West and Donald Trump

I assume this is a new level of satire, where the Kanye West character is calling a MAGA hat his Superman cape, and Trump is nodding away, looking confused.

A bit too unrealistic though.

Frankly it struck me as a desperate narcissist exploiting someone with mental health issues to prop up their uncontrollable desire for attention.

Sadly, what we watched is untreated mental illness. That man needs help, and soon. I never thought I would say this about kanye West, but I feel bad for that guy.

You call that music? I prefer my music idols not to dress up like fancy French water bottles!

Hey, I was being generous. Rap and Hip Hop are only music in the broadest sense of the word.

Yeah, apparently after the meeting, West strolled into an Apple store, hopped up on a table, and resumed his speech.

That was probably a better argument before the reality TV star was elected President of a super-power.

About the only thing that I know about Kanye West is that he is married to that Kim Kardashian bimbo, and that Kim Kardashian recently saw Trump about issuing a Presidential Pardon.

Therefore, I expect the prior relationship made it much easier for West to get his face-time with Trump.

If Kanye West get elected President, we're one step behind President Camacho.

I think if he decides to run, he'll win by a landslide. People laughed when I said Trump would win too, you know.

Trump was far from the landslide, though.

True, but that wasn't what I meant. People simply didn't believe Trump would win. It was a knife edge vote (and indeed he didn't win popular support). West IMO is much easier to predict.

Oh I don't know. Every time he was on the news it would be like a comedy show. If you woke up feeling down you'd think about how the leader of the free world was a half crazed opioid addicted rapper and you couldn't help but smile.

Try to understand that the left needs to destroy Kanye because he is no longer PC. It really is that simple. Dems should find it terrifying, but they won't. It's just business as usual.

Perhaps a reeducation camp would be in order for Kanye, as well as others who resist The Party? There certainly is precedent for it.

I know that this has been said before, but President Camacho recognized that the country had a problem, sought out the smartest person in the country to come up with a solution, and followed his advice. President Camacho would be an improvement.

There hasn't been any middle ground in a long time. The left continues in its lurch towards socialism, even with she smoldering economic ruins of Venezuela clearly visible in their rear-view mirrors.

Two raving narcissists, one black, one white. Neither one qualified to be President, nor for anything other than self-promotion. No racism needed.

Are you seriously suggesting that you'd be called a racist for having a negative opinion of someone who happens to be black? Certainly not from me, as you probably well know.

I absolutely love the irony of you missing that the right has been moving towards extremism, too.

Also, you have plenty of socialism on the right. Government-paid medicare and military is socialism. Clearly no one's against it. Perhaps you were thinking of communism?

1. What does Venezuela or socialism have to do with the topic of this thread?

2. An authoritarian country calling itself socialist, or democratic, or a republic doesn't make it socialist, or democratic, or a republic. Venezuela is an authoritarian dictatorship. In my experience, most who make such comments can't even correctly define socialism.

It's funny how easy it is to speculate about the future in a self-serving manner, more or less immune to fact-based challenges.

Indeed. It's not as if it's a difficult google search to perform. Politics/PC completely aside, his ramblings in the Oval Office were flat-out disturbed/disturbing.

Not to mention that West himself acknowledges that he has mental problems.

Having West into the Oval Office was nothing but an opportunity for Trump to say "Look at ME! I've a got a famous BLACK celebrity who LOVES me!"

It's no secret that West has mental issues and is off his medication. West was shamelessly being used by Trump. The very idea that their meeting was about discussing prison reform and manufacturing was not credible. West is not an expert on either. If that had been the true reason for their meeting, they would have met behind closed doors. It was all about publicity for Trump and taking advantage of a sick man. Shame on him.

The most leftward lurch by Americans will still not be toward as socialist a system as in Canada or the Scandinavian countries, who all rank well above the US in so many ways. Your use of Venezuela as a touchstone is hardly relevant, and indeed is grossly disingenuous.

Just adopting a one-payer health care system will make such a difference to the lot of so many Americans. And it would (or at least could) be cheaper, too.
