Christian Stangl is an artist who makes movies about science. The latest is The Comet - a short film using 400000 images from Rosetta. This is a great film. There are images of Philae dropping to the surface of 67P. About 2 minutes there is a probable a jet of gas from sublimating ices blowing dust particle about. Really? At what temperature did that occur at the comet? Got any proof for those temperatures at a comet? Of course not. More non-scientific gibberish. Believe it or not, experiments have been carried out, and proposals made, regarding using hydrated minerals at Mars and elsewhere to support human habitation. Some of these experiments, iirc, took place in Australia. Sol should avail himself of a search engine, and have a look for this. In particular, at the temperatures required to achieve the de-volitilisation (if that isn't a word, it is now!). Hint: not happening at a comet.
And many asteroids also contain hydrated minerals. They do not have a coma. The Moon has hydrated minerals. It does not have a coma. It gets rather toasty on the sunlit side of the Moon. Much toastier than 67P ever got. So, basically, dumb idea. Next.

In addition, as was also suggested to the lead author by a certain jd116, their claims of production within the instruments themselves are not consistent with the Alice observations, which show differences with regards to the impact parameter. In other words, whether the instrument is looking at the limb, or far away from the limb. This was also later noted in another paper addressing their claims;

We see ice on the comet in a certain location, when it is in shadow. We don't see it when it is in sunlight. Rinse and repeat.

See Fig. 3 for clarification. Questions for the interested student;

1) What is the temperature when ice is most abundant?
2) What is the temperature when it is less abundant?
3) What temperatures are required to drive water out of hydrated minerals?
4) Are these temperatures consistent with those observed in this paper?
5) What are the obvious conclusions to be drawn from the observations?

Answers below;

1) ~ 165-170 K.
2) ~ 185-200 K.
3) From memory, > 500 K.
4) No.
5) That they observed sublimation.
