Channeling Jim Morrison & Michael Hutchence

By the Lord High God Skinny I hope the estates of these two men sue these people for every thing they have and win.

Boo

I cannot think of a worse way to disrespect the memory of the deceased than to have some so-called psychic put words in their mouth when they are not around to defend themselves.

The words of Jim Morrison:

Jim: "I don't know how many of you believe in astrology..."
Random Chick in Audience: "JIM! JIM! I do!"
Jim: "Yeah baby, I'm a Sagittarius, the most philosphical of all the star signs..."
RCIA: "Me too Jim! I'm a Sagittarius too!"
J: "Well I don't believe in it myself."
RCIA: "Neither do I Jim!"
J: "I think it's a bunch of (B.S.)."

There's no one to sue. That's a web page for a self-publishing house. So far, the author of the book is out of pocket for publishing and printing costs, which she will only recoup if she can get people to buy her book. It'll be an uphill battle as she is unlikely to ever see the inside of an actual bookstore. The best attitude to take here is complete ingnorance of the subject. Any publicity, of any kind, positive or negative, is too much.

Michael Hutchence? said:
So why are you here? Do you want to know what actually occurred on the morning of the 22nd of November, 1997 in Room 524 of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Double Bay in Sydney, Australia?

I had no idea he was so detail oriented

Yes, there is someone to sue: The authors and the publishing "company".

It isn't a question of suing for money. It's a question of suing for presenting falsehoods about people as if they were facts.

These people aren't putting a "For Entertainment Purpose" disclaimer on the inside flap. These people are claiming that what they say is true. That means they can - and should - be held responsible for it.

When you go out and say "Hey, here's a great story I made up about Morrison", there's not a damned thing the estate can do about it. Happens all the time - just think of "The Rutles".

But if you say "Hey, here's some facts about Morrison", regardless of how you "got" those "facts", then you got a problem on your hand.

Bring them to court, and put a stop to this.

I don't have much to say about this silliness but it is interesting that they picked those two. I thought when they were doing a movie of the Doors that they should pick Micheal Hutchence to play Jim Morrison (not to slight Val Kilmer) but he seems like had a similar style.

I guess it is going to depend on how the book is worded. Really, it is only going to be a combination of facts anyone can find out, and utter fiction made up by the so-called medium. Problem is, if these writers word these fictions as "I think he said to me that he was attacked by the flying spaghetti monster, but the connection (or whatever such rubbish they say) wasn't totally clear", then it mightn't be so cut and dried.

I think it is pretty sick actually. I would love to see it stopped, but the world of self publishing isn't exactly discerning.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

As long as she's channeling them, I'm sure they'd be happy to put out some new music. As soon as she publishes some music to rival some of Morrison's greatest pieces, THEN I'll pay attention. Until then, I'm firmly with the "Sue her for everything" crowd.

Jim Morrison speaks about his conviction in Miami:

"I was the personification, in the minds of authority figures, of anarchy, chaos and revolution"

As well as, apparently, conceit.

That just gave me the mental image of two cops arresting a murder suspect in 1970, and commiserating with each other over "okay, it's not Jim Morrison, but it's a good bust and we'll get him next time." :eye-poppi
