in my dreams....ME.......I can just about play Smoke on the Water and a few Black Sabbath Riffs.

Seriosuly folks I would say a toss up between Jimmy Page, Johnnie Winters, Jeff Beck and Richie Blackmore a close runner up

I mentioned Kazuhito Yamashita. When I first heard his transcription of Pictures At An Exhibition for solo guitar, my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe that what I was hearing was being playing by just one person.

I have no idea if he's been mentioned here in 12 pages of discussion (and my Internet connection is running too slow today for me to go back and see), but I have just got to throw out the name of Ewan Dobson.

Not sure if they've been mentioned yet, but I have always liked Eric Johnson and Tony MacAlpine. Great talents!

Ive been a guitarist for 30+ yrs and have 5 albums out. Ive studied with Robben Ford, a student of John Williams, Martin Simpson, and also took lessons from John Petrucci. I have thousands of influences, but if i were pressed for the top few id say
1) Danny Gatton 2) Shawn Lane and Buckethead (always saw them at the same shows...) 3) Satriani

Ive seen Eric at least a dozen times--he's a monster! I remember when Tony first came out. I went to see him play at a show on LI and he didnt show up. Boy was i mad! But Larry Mitchell was there and so he played a full set which was awesome. Larry is a producer in NM now and he is definitely a relatively unknown but right up there with the best (also a super nice guy!)

I haven't heard of Larry Mitchell. I'll have to look him up, seeing as you obviously have great taste in music.
