Wow, I used to think these bigfooters were lightweights, always running from rather than toward their subject. But I can't think of anything scarier in the bush than accompanying MM with a loaded pistol.
Probably accounts for a lot of "Yes, Sir, that was definitely a Bigfoot woodknock." "You are correct, Sir, that was a Bigfoot howl." "Absolutely, Sir, that was a Bigfoot image on the FLIR." Wonder if he flashes the bad boy before they enter the woods. Maybe their resident "skeptic" on the show used to actually be one." lol |

MM just said these are different bigfoots in FL. Smaller and reddish. He said they are scoocums or skunk apes.

5 minutes in and it's hard to keep track of the howlers being uttered...

Bigfoot was on her porch and opened her storm door!
With a hokey looking "handprint" no less! I think we should take this series as a comedy show. It's utterly ridiculous... |

The "handprint" is an unrecognizable smudge until they enhance it, imo.

It's amazing, everywhere they go, they see and communicate with bigfoot.

Ahh, Southern Bigfoot= small reddish blobs
Northern bigfoots= large black/brown blobs Funny how on episode 1 MM tried to "trick" an eyewitness by feeding false descriptions of bigfoot to the eyewitness to see if he would agree- eye size, nose, facial hair. And now he says there are different kinds that can vary in description from other bigfoot. |

Show just said that skunk apes hide in underground alligator holes, and their fur absorbs methane, and that's why they stink.
It went by quick, but I think that's what it said. |

Does methane smell? I thought it didn't and that is why it kills people in mines and caves.

More IR oddities. They have something on the IR, standing in the great wide open, but somehow they miss filming it when it turned and left, even though they had it in the frame forever and MM was walking towards it, with both MM and the creature in the frame. Suddenly they cut, and only MM is in the frame.
The part where it turned and left, which would have undoubtedly revealed what it probably was, is missing. |

I caught that too. At this point, the show is pretty much acting as if it is confirmed that bigfoot is real, instead of trying to prove it one way or the other.
Meanwhile, once AGAIN, in typical footer fashion, they find a bigfoot in the area, but decide to leave and look somewhere else instead. It must be in the footer handbook that the best way to find a squatch is to look somewhere else whenever you believe one is nearby. I think it's safe to say this show is even worse than Monsterquest. I'm sure it plays well with the believers though. That demographic is probably an advertisers wet dream, lol. If they'll buy the bigfoot nonsense, they'll buy anything. |

They are "finding bigfoot" wherever they go, and then leaving the area. Thus the title, I guess.

Saves them $4 a gallon driving around and Finding Bigfoot themselves. Caught a black bear heading up the hill through the backyards in our neighborhood. No way would I ever think Bigfoot. Even at dusk (low light) my neighbors knew what he was too. Wish I had a FLIR to capture the image and see what that would have looked like. He had a lot of obstacles to traverse. Anything for a mate... |

Thermal images
1. Before Bobo Bit-it, he had an upright humanoid on the Thermal imager. It looked human, in fact there was a definite border in heat right about where the beltline would be on a person. 2. There is an animal in what looks like a powerline right of way. I immediately thought 'deer facing the imager'. However, they cut away as Moneymaker approaches it, and it FREAKING DISAPPEARS!!, they say it 'faded into the night' as bigfoot do, or something like that. I'm sure they had whatever it was, turning and trotting into the woods, but of course they chose to cut the image because it would have clearly shown what it really was. |

It is going to be very difficult to watch any more of Finding Bigfoot. That they can narrowly define character traits such as hiding/sleeping in alligator pits and absorbing methane without ever having found one bigfoot/skunkape is just so simply amazing. Moneymaker is a useless huckster and Animal Planet should be embarassed by this show.

Cliff Barackman has stated that it was a horse.
There also were wood knocks heard at the Florida house with the greasy handprint...

That "dark man" "technique" of sitting a person alone in the dark is not to attract bigfoots; it is a psychological manipulation ploy ( we used a blindfold variation of it in our fraternity initiation many years ago). You sit the naive recruit (hopefully sleep-deprived) in the dark and tell him that he can't move or make a sound or fall asleep or use a flashlight (or take off the blindfold) and that Bigfoot (or in my case, fraternity brothers) will be watching and coming by to check him out, and any violation of the protocol could result in a Bigfoot attack (or being washed out of the fraternity). Then the fun begins. Depending on the creativity of the perpetrators, it is a mildly sadistic routine that can be quite frightening. It can go on for hours. I'm sure it is very effective in converting the fools on Moneymakers "expeditions". Of course, he chose the "skeptic" to be the lonely sitter. What a cheesy operation. That one sequence should serve to "pull back the curtain" on his racket.

yes, these tactics, or similar are employed on the expeditions. I remember quizzing someone at the old BFF, and it related to keeping the campers up until the wee hours, then sending them to bed with fresh bigfoot terror stories. Inevitably, someone has a sleep hallucination where Bigfoot is 'compressing their chest', or stomping outside the tent.
I'm sure this is what happens with the 'dark man' strategy. |

The perpetrators (who are using night vision equipment, or not blindfolded) approach, walk around, make noises, seemingly walk away, while leaving one silent perpetrator who can then think up more ways to scare the victim, who is "in the dark". Those of you who recall the film "Wait Until Dark" may remember how scary it was when Alan Arkin and his cronies torture the blind (in the dark) Aubrey Hepburn in the same way.
The dark man ploy is illustrated with a twist in the dark shooting sequence in the movie Silence of the Lambs; the villain, who is wearing night vision equipment, is enjoying terrifying Clarice, who stumbles around in the dark. Instead of killing her, he sadistically reaches out to to touch her, just to scare her before he kills her. She of course, is nobodys fool and, given the chance, shoots him. |

Funny how Bobo hooks the group up with a Seminole Indian tribal chief, and they go out in the woods with the guy, to check out his sighting, and the guy meets them in bare feet.
Matt says something like "Do you always go out here in bare feet?" "yes" he replies. DOH!! Why would bare footed people be out in the middle of nowhere?!?! |

Moneymaker again on Cryptomundo. This is probably now going to be a ritual. After each episode he will get on Crypto and give his own version of damage control.

I'm a believer in BF, but, I'm confused while watching this show.
"We're getting responses and hearing things moving around! Ya know what? Lets drive 5 hours to southern Florida and leave the area with tree-knocking and what not so Bobo can hide in the woods" Where are the cameras being set-up at the Bridges household? Why are cameras not being left on the fence and deck and what not for a month or so? That's what I would do. Also, why would a 8-foot plus animal need to bend down a bird-feeder? Wouldn't it be at a decent height to begin with? |

Because they don't want trail-cam photos of raccoons and bears to rain on their parade. Makes good sense to me. You see, Bigfoot is just a suggestion in the mind of the beholder. Once they do achieve a level of suggestion, they have really "found" Bigfoot, and they move on. Meldrum phrases it this way: we know the tracking dogs in the new project won't be able to catch a sasquatch, sas is too smart for that. We just want the dogs to find evidence of sasquatch.
Those bozos who made the Snelgrove Lake MonsterQuest did the same thing. Ran off and left the owner with the idea that some bigfoot did the vandalism, when in reality the DNA showed it was just some kids from the nearby village. yeah and why would an 8 foot monster open a storm door and leave prints on the inside of the glass a foot or two off the ground???? Hello??? |

Moneymaker: "Again, it's not our call. They are keeping all that kinda stuff secret from us before the show airs...
There's all sorts of things they did that I don't like. You folks don't even know the half of it... All I can say is that a whole lot of things are going to change before we shoot more episodes with them. " ---------- WP: But you guys got paid, right? ------------ This is the same excuse that Munns uses for his misstatements on similar programs. The alligator/methane billboard was the least of the deception. I don't see much difference between Munns and Moneymaker. They both have their techniques and memes to fool the rubes, and collect their check. |

It would be too ironic to see MM get used...
Of course, I don't believe a word of it. He knows exactly what's going on, it's exactly the same game he plays. |

by the way, I'll bet dollars to donuts that the methane/stink gaff came from somebody (I'm lookin at you, Bobo*) who in his younger days lit more than a few gaseous human expulsions aka flatus, which does contain methane and hydrogen, which are flammable, but the stink comes from sulfur-containing gases.
*bobo is code for fart . |

They ganked the Methane thing right from Dave Shealy's website.
Wudewasa noted this at BFF- Credit where it's due. http://www.skunkape.info/content/view/79/60/

Honestly, MM might have a point. I've talked with a number of people who've been involved in MQ and Ghosthunter-type shows, and they all pretty much say the same thing: The production staff simply doesn't care whether or not they're putting together an honest or scientific program. They only care about the technical side of things and getting viewers in front of TVs. Honesty is not part of the equation.
