Cool See the Blue Man Group during TAM9 Week

I could have sworn there was already, once, a thread for seeing Blue Man Group during TAM9. But, if there is, I can't find it.

The following are the dates and times I am willing to see it, along with the pros and cons of doing so. If anyone wants to join me, let me know which option you prefer.

Wed. 13th, 7:00 PM
PROS: This is very convenient for those also seeing Mac King that day. You can easily walk from Harrah's (or wherever we have dinner), to the Venetian, without making a separate trip back and forth to the hotel.
CONS: Depending on various factors, you could miss out on getting your badge and packet early. (registration desk is open from 5 PM to 9 PM). Thus, you will likely have to wait on a longer line to acquire them the next day.

Wed. 13th, 10:00 PM
PROS: Does not interfere, much, with anything on the schedule.
CONS: Will require a separate trip, and I probably won't have my own car, yet. That means a cab ride.
Also, your appearance at "Skeptics in the Pub" will be cut short, if you are going to that.
(The "Pub" meet-up officially runs from 8 PM to 10 PM, but somehow I suspect there will be plenty of us TAMers at the place long before and after, so perhaps it makes little difference.)

Sun. 16th, 7:00 PM
PROS: I will likely have my rental car by then, so I will not mind the separate trip as much, and I can take some of you along.
CONS: You will be missing the Live Million Dollar Challenge, if that matters to you.

Sun. 16th, 10:00 PM
PROS: Same as above. I will likely be able to drive folks there.
CONS: None that I can see. Unless you are already flying out, by then, or something.

Mon. 17th, 7:00 PM
PROS: Nothing specific, other than it is a convenient time, for me. Thanks to my new flight plan, I do not have to be at the airport until 9:30 PM. This will give me something to fill some of the time.
CONS: You have to still be in Vegas. If not, then forget it!

Official Site:
http://www.blueman.com/tickets/las_vegas

Show is 1 hr. and 45 mins. long, with no intermission.

Ticket prices vary, by zone, from $75.00 to $160.00, assuming we don't get any special deals. The site does have a few sprinkled around. I am willing to sit in any zone. Money is not a factor for me.

I have seen the show, several years ago. But, unfortunately, I was unable to meet the Blue Men afterwards, because I was rushed off to another event at the time. This year, I intend to stick around and get my photo taken with them, after the show!

Coincidentally, these are the times I don't want to see it.

So I can make one or two of those times, but is the Blue Man Group really worth it? I've never found them to be that entertaining to watch for one number, let alone for 1 hr 45 min. Then again, maybe I don't get them yet. Open to learn more about them.

It depends on what you're into. I think they're kinda cool. If you don't think so, then perhaps the show is not for you.

I think my favorite bit of theirs was "Rods and Cones". It's actually a bit educational, and there is a neat optical illusion effect they have going on, on the sides of the stage (that for some reason doesn't get shown for very long on the televised version). I hope they still do that one, in the show's current incarnation.

Sometimes (well, perhaps more often than sometimes), they do get a bit silly. And messy. But, at least you don't have to put up with most of the mess, as long as you stay out of the "poncho zone".

I have decided that, unless there is strong swaying towards another option, I will probably go with Sun. 16th, 10:00 PM, as my default preferred choice.

(I will need a little more than a "meh" from Adman for me to go with the Wed. 7PM option.)

I will probably buy the ticket(s) this weekend, at some time.
