Smell those chemtrails !

3 Times now at like 4pm there were chemtrails (criss crossed) over spfld MO. over past month.

I saw a plane ea time. Do they typically go low then go higher? The chemtrails were low but when i saw the plane it was kinda high.

Within about an hour the chemtrails were already disappated. Is that normal?

Is there no spell check on here? cant find it.

So but like the ppl in the planes doing it, they dont have a clue what they are really doing do they? Are they govmnt workers or city workers?

Several mos ago i actually smelled the chemical. It waS A very rare cloudy day, very stagnant, and NO WIND. I mean ZERO wind. So easy to smell stuff like that on such stagnant day. But my senses are heightening anyway.
I think they were spraying above the clouds on that particular day.

Nobody else could smell it. And It was faint!!!! I never smelled that smell before. :)

What is it with these people ?
 
So what was the smell?

Did you smell it before you noticed them, or after you had seen them and registered in your head that there was a lot about today?
 
But... But... Planes have been leaving contrails in the sky for about as long as there have been planes. I've seen those WW2 photos of squadrons of bombers, filling the entire sky with contrails. So why are they only now so insidious...?

I know a conspirakook that also claims he can smell the "chemtrails". He also thinks he's being personally targeted by them too and that there were no con/chemtrails behind planes until after 9/11.

And I'm sure that the fact that the Springfield VORTAC (SGF) defines the intersection of many high-altitude routes (J routes) would have nothing to do with regularly scheduled airplanes at high altitude over Springfield, MO...
 
OK, resurrecting an old thread... I flew into Midway this morning to see the family. Because I'm an easily bored flight instructor or geek (choose one or both), I was running something called ForeFlight on my iPad. The guy next to me noticed and asked about it. I told him that I'm a flight instructor. He then asked me what I thought of chemtrails, to which I responded "it's a bunch of c***". He then started explaining about how "they're" crop dusting and killing us. I responded that it's water vapor, I'm not discussing it early on a Friday morning, and that he could believe anything he wanted.

He said, "Just wait - you'll see". OK. Fine. Whatever.

I swear, there's something about me that attracts flat-earthers, perpetual motion machine inventors (every year at Oshkosh I get one of those!), JFK conspiracy kooks, and now chemtrail believers.

I know the feeling. I attract the attention of believers of sort of paranormal and metaphysical nonsense, and Bigfooters. And my mom is buying into conspiracy theories lately.

So that was YOUR plane dropping chemicals (invisible ones! I could smell them!) all over my car as I drove up the Tri-state to work this morning! Were you flying Southwest??

Or maybe I was just smelling the Canal as I drove over it.

I have to admit, I think there is something correct in mikeyman’s statement, it seems I have smelled chemtrails most of my life. I just didn’t know it until now.

When I was younger, they smelled like JP-4. Today they smelled like Jet-A. Did they change the chemical make up?:confused:

And back before jet engined bombers, they smelled like high octane aviation gasoline! 70+ years they've been at it, we're doomed!:jaw-dropp

I wish the chemtrail crowd would take their mobile device and get on one of the flight tracking software sites (flightaware, flight tracker, etc) and do some coorelation of these flights as to airline, type, altitude and such. (then they could send a strongly worded letter to the head offices!!)
Heck, we get FedEx MD-10s going over occasionally, really put out the three distinctive trails when conditions are right. I enjoy watching them.

Alsoi wish they would even acknowledge the possible terrestrial sources of the various materials they attribute to jetliners.
 
I think all of those chemtards should stop sitting in their mum's basement, and perhaps have a shower every now and then - then the smell wouldnt be so bad;)

On a serious note; the least these people should do, is to read up on their meteorology, and especially their aviation meteorology. I've discussed contrails with these tards, problem is though when I lay out the facts, they say that since I work in ATC, I am of course in on it, because I wouldn't know that much about it, if I wasn't...lol I just luv the "logic" of chemtards!

That's the case in most conspiracy theories that involve specialized knowledge. As soon as it's apparent you know enough to contest their theory on its merits, you are automatically lumped in as a conspirator or shill.
 
It's just easy to blame your ills/failures/inadequacies/whatever on "Them", and trace it to some secret device/process/whatever that "They" control, to make your life miserable.

Makes them feel important, as the grand "They" are spending time and effort making the little guy suffer. Better to be hated than ignored, it seems...

I think that pretty much sums up conspiracism. Some people are far more terrified of obscurity and mediocrity than they are of hatred.
 
...we have trails today! Had several on east/west tracks this morning, not terribly heavy, but persistent nonetheless. I didn't bother to check the flight numbers or types, just enjoyed watching them, full of travelers, enroute to somewhere...

It's all quite astounding when you think of the enormous infrastructure that makes so much air travel just daily routine...

I used to drive that way and it was smelling like French fries from the crackeries upstream. Told my wife and she said, "There's only so many ways carbon can form molecules."

I thought for a moment and said, "I'm pretty sure the ways carbon can form up with other elements is virtually infinite."

"That's only so many ways."

OTOH, there are only so many carbon chains our noses can detect, and I'm glad to have French fries receptors.
