Based on their recent behavior, I don't want them to continue to stay in power. The problem is that if democrats continue going down the exact same path the republicans have trod, the path of "I'm rubber you're glue" and "tit for tat", I don't think the democrats have a chance in hell of taking it back.

This is an excellent way to alienate the extremely large volume of independent voters and ensure that democrats don't get taken seriously either. At this point, both of these idiot houses are so engaged in pissing contests and penis comparisons with each other than they're breaking the system and neither of them are doing their jobs. I was already frustrated with both parties. I'm rapidly approaching full-fledged disgust. I am also not alone in this. ALL of the political ideologues need to stop acting like children.

Agreed. Some degree of rational and adult collaboration for the good of the nation would be nice. What the country does NOT need is a kindergarten class in charge of the nation.

Your suggestion is that the democrats should make sure they are just as bad as the republicans, thus guaranteeing that "everyone's wellbeing" is something we can never accomplish. Kudos.
 
Muslim teacher Juhel Miah denied entry to US 'not given reason'
A Muslim teacher denied entry to the United States while on a school trip said he has still not been told why. Mr Miah had flown to Reykjavik, Iceland, with the party from Llangatwg Community School in Aberdulais, Neath, before boarding an onward flight to New York on 16 February.

But before the plane took off he was escorted off by security staff.
The teacher, from Swansea, who says he has a visa which is valid until 2019 and does not have a criminal record Mr Miah said he has a British passport and does not have dual nationality. His family's ethnic background is Bangladeshi.

"I can't think why they wouldn't want me on the plane, apart from maybe because I'm a Muslim," he said.

He added that he had never been to any of the seven Muslim-majority countries included in an executive order signed by US President Donald Trump, temporarily barring people from those places.

Something similar happened to a student-athlete from Canada as well. Born there, but had a funny name.
 
Boris was given Trumps assurance that UK passport holders were unaffected by his new rules and were welcome. So much for Trumps assurance. Boris made to look like a dick again. So much for the 'Special Relationship' May is a twat as well for falling for it.

It seems that if your name is Mohamed Alonso or Yassine Castro your chances to enter in the US are currently not very good.

Agreed, in that it's equally nauseating for Trump to keep crowing about his Electoral College win.

I liked this reporter's final comment, which I read as a subtle put-down:

Reporter: Mr. President, you said today that you have biggest electoral margins since Reagan with 350 electoral votes, and, in fact, president Obama got 365 -- [Trump mumbles in response] why should America — [ Trump tries to protest in response] why should America trust you when you accuse the — [ inaudible ]

Trump: Actually, I've seen that information around. It was a substantial difference, do you agree with that?

Reporter: You're the president.

Trump: Okay. [laughing]
 
Defunding programs they don't like with the excuse of "we can't afford it" while ramping up funding for programs they really like, such as the Trump enrichment program.
 
Lawrence O'Donnell has two mental health experts on explaining just how dangerous Trump is and why it's unethical for them not to speak up.

Should be interesting. Are we prepared to hear that every single used car salesman that has ever existed suffers from the exact same mental illness? Snake oil sales. Yeah those guys all had the same mental illness. Now it's Trump.

People like Trump are actually rather common in the world. They just aren't the President. But some are presidents of businesses and organizations. Self-loving compulsive and manipulative liars. They are all over the place. Sometimes they are bad to deal with and sometimes they are good.

I guess we are going to hear about them as being the mentally ill.

Not sure how you are discounting the actual evidence, people as extremely narcissistic are not common. There are, however, people one encounters who suffer from personality disorders. They just aren't in such prominent positions as Trump.

Do you truly not see the difference between an egotist and seriously pathologic narcissism?

Partisan reporting again, apparently his first name is Muhammed and as we know many terrorists use that name, plus his skin is a tad dark, plus he comes from some unpronounceable town like all these terrorists plus he can hardly speak English have you heard his accent? Not surprising he raised suspicions, can't be too careful with these foreigners!

She, and the rest of the government are desperate. Brexit is super-scary (and their mishandling of it is terrible) so let's pretend that the US will fix everything for us and all will be OK :rolleyes:

Not 'The people', but the people who voted for Trump. They voted for Trump because he was the only viable candidate, not because they were stupid.

The people who voted for Trump only had two real choices - vote for a Republican (Trump) or a Democrat (Clinton). Would a republican have voted for Hillary just because their own candidate wasn't as good as they wanted him to be? Of course not - that would be stupid. Stupid because any 'republican' who who voted for Hillary wasn't really a republican, and any 'democrat' who voted for Trump isn't really a democrat.

Perhaps you think that anyone who voted for Trump was an idiot, but what if it was the other way around? Would you have voted for the republican candidate (eg. Sarah Palin) if Trump was running as a Democrat? Would you have refused to vote if that would help the Republicans win? Of course not. You would have voted for Trump because Party comes first, and winning is all that matters!

No, but if Mitt Romney was running as a Republican and Trump as a Democrat (if he campaigned the same way as the election) I would vote for Mitt.

Acting like children for 8 years gave the GOP both houses of Congress and the White House, and will ensure a majority in the Supreme Court for a generation. If that's what it takes to win, Democrats will have to do it too.

Yeah but once he clinched the nomination people fell in line, including many who found him highly objectionable. Good and loyal republican party members and supporters found it necessary to vote for him out of loyalty to the party which is a serious problem.

Well, it helped that he also took solidly Republican positions on certain key issues. It's not like they voted for a pro-choice, pro-immigration gun grabber just because he had the letter R by his name on the ballot. He's an aberration, but not a RINO. I could see myself voting for someone who I agreed with on most policy issues even if I didn't have the highest opinion of him as a humanoid. I can hardly be surprised that lots of Republicans would do the same.

Apparently the destination of his school trip was New York. I wonder if the pupils he was in charge of are going to pay a visit to the Statue of Liberty during their Big Apple tour.

If any other R candidate had vacillated on their positions on key issues as much as he did during the primaries, they would have been laughed off the floor. Those positions were not the difference between him and the others.
